I booked for dinner (2 adults and one child) on 14th February (Valentine's day).Having read the menu on their website, I was hoping to try oysters, scallops and pork belly. To our surprise, the "special" Valentine dinner did not have any of these, but still costed 75$ for 3 course menu. Somebody from the management must explain how you can offer a "special" dinner that has less choice for the same price? Drink: We started with a martini gyn - undrinkable. Too strong and no flavour of martini at all. Entree: fish terrine - tasteless.Main: Spaghetti Prawns. No salt. Loquat chef should follow Italian award winning chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo's advice to abound with salt and olive oil if you want to give taste to your dish.Dessert: Pavlova - excessively sweet. I do understand that a dessert must be sweet, but there is a spectrum! This must be a flaw of Australian chefs given that I had the same experience at Peter Gilmore's Bennelong.Other notes: very limited parking and waiters dressed quite randomly. In summary: dishes well presented but not pleasant. Not recommended.

Called in here early on Sunday after a quick check of the internet indicated that it was dog friendly. It was a chilly winter morning but the great service, beautifully fresh food and outdoor heater soon warmed our group up. We sat outside under the shade of a guava tree that was covering the pergola. Lovely setting. nothing was too much trouble for the gentleman who served us. This venue needs to be on everybody's cafe list when visiting the local area. Thank you for serving lovely food combined with old time hospitality in a dog friendly environment!

Came here for breakfast - this cafe is the front of the flock of seagulls market. The breakfast menu has good variety, had the eggs Florentine which was tasty. The hollandaise sauce is home made and not from a bottle (sometimes you never know)- the prices are also reasonable. The wait for the food was a little bit long- but it was busy and coffees came fast enough so not too much of an issue. was great to browse the small market afterwards.

First, caution. This is an unpatrolled beach; there are no life guards. The sea can be very rough here and unsafe to swim in for the unwary. The beach here faces the open sea and not the bay. I like coming here to swim for abalone (it requires a fishing license). There are rock pools where you can take a dip and swim with the baby sharks and small fish. Thick kelp weeds cover a big section of the swimming area. If you are very lucky you can see a weedy sea dragon (a relative of the sea horse). The sea is magnificent to look at.

We booked this place for dinner tonight , after viewing reviews, what a pleasant surprise it was! Cosy restaurant on the main road across the road from the bay. Excellent local wine selection, we had pork belly and fish whiting fillets. Both dishes were well presented and beautifully cooked. Recommend and will be back on our next visit.
