Last week I took my Beautiful Wife and Daughter to a place nearby in Eildon only 20 minutes from home. To say I was surprised is a gross understatement, I was left speechless in the best way possible!!I found the Best Authentic Italian Pizza I have ever had and I am going to flat out disagree with people who have said that the Italian owner is rude in any way shape or form... He's lovely and very very talented in the kitchen!! Ok, I will rewind to the beginning:Saturday evening last week 29/10/17 I think and I wanted Pizza traditional not the processed garbage you see in bulk in Melbourne and well everywhere else for that matter... Good ol' fashioned Italian Wood Fired Pizza like Nona used to make. I said to my wife I felt like wood fired pizza and was there anywhere near us that does them. So she Google searched wood fired pizza and found this beautiful little restaurant in Eildon. She read some reviews and was a bit worried after reading how the owner and operator was rude etc etc. So I said "babe how about I call and ask for a reservation and at least try the place" to which she agreed. I picked up the phone and called and on the other end was a well spoken Italian gentleman who was friendly quiet and sounded a little shocked that I was making a reservation. Anyway my perception of it anyway. Upon arrival we walked in to a traditionally decorated little Italian Restaurant which I must say 'Loved It' immediately Beautiful hard wood tables, lovely set tables and a lovely array of wine's on display and a gourmet food Vibe like a little Tuscan grille with the Pizza oven in plain sight and everything spotless clean and meticulously placed (Yes in Eildon, I know I was as shocked as you are!) As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely Italian Gentleman who seated us and brought water and menu's he was quietly spoken but had a nice smile and welcoming attitude to match. NOW I must say that itself goes a long way with us a greeting and a smile will get you everywhere in our family. Anyway as he poured us some water and my wife commented after he left "He's not rude at all!" After looking over the menu we decided to order some drinks a LL&B for me and a Sauvignion blanc glass for the wife and as you can see by the photos a good sized portion of wine at that!By now I am wondering WHY we're the only one's in for dinner... Anyway we ordered 2 large pizzas to which we received a surprising look from our Host/Chef/Owner and one man band to which I simply replied "we're good eaters" famous last words... About 10mins later we were served a beautiful looking Traditional Italian Wood Fired Pizza thin, fresh and well topped ☺ Bellisimo!!The second came about 5 minutes later and I couldn't help but to express my feelings of love for this Pizza All the flavours were there from the Kalamata olives to the house made Salami, fresh spinach leaves, freshly cut herb's and gorgeous fetta and light mozzarella cheese complimented by a Beautiful Napoli Sauce (secret family recipe) I am guessing. The next pizza was even better than the first it was quite honestly the best Traditional Italian Wood Fired Pizza to date and being so close to home is already written in for dinner next Sunday evening continuing on a fortnightly basis there after... As we were getting towards the end of our meal my daughter and wife noticed that the Italian Owner was chopping away and dancing with the music which also added to the enjoyment of our evening thus far, that being said we weren't done eating yet apparently. We were again greeted with a plate for Dessert of pumpkin and chopped nuts sprinkled on top along with a Syrup or something similar anyway I had never ever seen a pumpkin dessert and I didn't want to offend him so I tried it... Oh My Lord it was delicious unexplainably and unexpectedly Delicious I ate almost all of it, this seemed to not only please our Wonderful host but compliment the lovely dinner just eaten. I'm sorry I have gone on and on about Eildon Wood Fired Pizza but this business deserves the accolades I'm trying to award it here now...Now here's the sad part of our evening. For the best part of 1 and half hours nobody came in or left this beautiful little restaurant and the phone rang once in that time which was nice and visibly uplifted our host's spirits too! It's heart breaking seeing somewhere like this empty yet the greasy fast food place across the carpark busy... Especially being that the same restaurant in Melbourne CBD, Prahran, Lygon St, Toorak, Malvern, St Kilda etc etc for example would be packed every day of the week! It's such a shame, this place is a hidden Gem in Eildon and for now at least has 3-4 more customers on a regular basis. (Us) I'm writing this review in the hope this review reaches Far and Wide and brings in continuous support and clientele from food lovers such as myself and many others who have as yet not tried the Beautiful food and sweets (home made) within! My daughter also asked me not to forget to mention that he gave her a free treat a sugar dusted jelly dessert or the like (not sure she didn't share with me) which ended the perfect evening in my new favourite restaurant in Eildon... Please if you like Good Traditional Italian Wood Fired Pizza then check it out! I wasn't disappointed in the slightest.Rating Summary.Restaurant Decor: 4.5/5Service: 5.5/5Food Quality: 5/5Price: 4.5/5Overall Experience: 6/5 Fantastic and Highly Recommended to All Fine Food Lovers!Thank you very much and we'll see you next weekend...
