We were visiting from Hawaii and were in Millbrae overnight after our flight into/out of SFO. We ate here twice and both times the food and service were excellent. The first time we ate here it was just my husband and me. He had the Sukiyaki and I had the Chicken Teriyaki meal. My husband enjoyed the Sukiyaki and said it was very filling and the sauce/soup base was very flavorful. The Chicken Teriyaki was tender and delicious. We both ordered the miso soup, while he had a fresh green salad as a side and I had the white rice, which was fluffy and of good quality. The second time we were here, my husband and I ordered the same dishes and our two sons accompanied us and they each had the Chicken Katsu Curry and a side of Tempura. They said the curry was great and the tempura was crisp and not oily. They both enjoyed their meals. The owner Kaoru and our server Thomas were so pleasant, welcoming and efficient. They kept checking to see if we were enjoying our meal. Both times the restaurant filled quickly with other patrons who appeared to be regulars, which to us says a lot about the quality of the food and service.

My friend and I stopped in for a Dim Sum lunch. Restaurant was not crowed when we arrived and we were seated quickly. Largest dim sum selection I have every seen. No steam cart - one just orders off a menu. One peeve.... as the only non-Asian guests in the restaurant, service was not outstanding. Other Asian guests arriving much later than us were served more quickly and with a smile. Food was quite good - and we ordered 8 different small plates. Price was $44 w/o tip.

Been here few times, but havenât been back for a long time. Their menu is quite extensive, but if you read properly, a lot of their main dishes are the same with just a replacement for different meat/fish. For instance, Rangoon beef can also be ordered with Rangoon fish, lamb or chicken so donât make a mistake by ordering Rangoon fish and Rangoon lamb together. Both are good but same taste except one is fish instead of meat. Overall itâs not bad, nothing special. One particular dish that is worth ordering is their fresh tempura roll which is pricey but good to try. Another dish is their pumpkin squash curry with chicken. The curry sauce with caffir leaves is delicious, but it comes with huge chunks of chicken with no taste. Itâs like eating boiled chicken, thanks to the curry sauce, you can push the chicken aside and simply enjoy the sauce with its veggies. You can thank the caffir leaves for that!

Welcoming staff, innovative dishes, great menu that is second to none. Every dish tastes different and with flavors of their own and delightful. The restaurant layout is comfortable, staff devoted and actually very attentive. The saloon is very clean, with very good plateware (toilets needs cleaning).The menu is original dishes that hold their own, this is a place for very fine dinning Chinese food.The flavor of all items, including the tea is different and original. Try any item of the menu for delightful dinning.

Zen Bistro is a quiet, modern and comfortable place to enjoy very good Japanese food. The menu offers a wide range of tasty options. On this visit I had katsudon, which was well prepared. Street parking is limited, but there is a good sized public lot to the back (east) side of the restaurant.

Friendly and fast service on a Sunday for a late lunch. Adobo chicken and pork was excellent - tender and juicy meats with home-cooked adobo seasonings and presentation. Rice was perfectly executed and the deconstructed presentation of the classic eggplant salad was the winner. We will definitely go back to try more menu items.

We ate here at this restaurant a few times during our visit, highly recommended by family and friends. They offer Vietnamese cuisine and it was very delicious aside from being very reasonable. Very centrally located right in the middle of the city of millbrae. The restaurant is run by the owner himself and his family, so he gives it his personal touch. Food and service was too notch , food is served in a very timely fashion. The restaurant can use a bit of a facelift but regardless food was excellent !

I found this restaurant on Yelp due to the number of stars that was posted. It is not your typical chinese restaurant but very popular as there was definitely a waiting list at 6pm. We ordered noodles and a beef dish but looked around at other plates and they seem to be very popular with their signature dishes. If you are looking for your typical chinese restaurant with Wonton Soup, this is not your place, but if you are looking for a different type of chinese Hunan Style, definitely a place to try. Food was very tasty, friendly staff, and quick service. Portions are family style.Thank you for your business. We are always here to deliver 5-star service and food. Continues w/ notably good quality, large individual dumpling sizes compared to other Dim Sum place between SF and mid-peninsula, and clientele mostly Asians, a good sign. To avoid heavy noon-ish crowds, even mid-week, would arrived before 12noon.
