My best friends live in Brooks so I googled best lunch. Wasana restaurant came up. However, we went around 630ish and we were the only people there. The restaurant was what you expect for a small town. It was very clean and well lit. We were warmly greeted by the owner and found our seats. While my girlfriend and I wanted Thai food, her husband was going to play it safe until the owner came over. Now he came with a purpose; to bring over his own glasses so my friend's husband could read the menu. How extraordinarily kind!! We asked him to serve us his recommendations with Pad Thai, of course. His choices were impeccable. Funnily enough we each picked a different favourite dish. My girlfriend chose the shrimp in Thai basil sauce. She had not tasted Thai basil before but somehow I think it may show up in her garden this year. Her husband throughly enjoyed the Pad Thai while my favourite was a dish called 'suk' or 'sook'. I didn't see it on the menu. But the dish that took my tastebuds by storm was the bacon rice. Yes, you read that right - BACON RICE. OMG!!! I am craving it now. It was so delicious and more than just bacon added to rice. The meal was absolutely one of the best Thai dinners I have had outside of Thailand. But my title is "Totally Awesome Experience" because it wasn't just the incredible food it was the experience. The owner was fab!! The glasses was the beginning. He regaled us throughout the meal with laughter and stories. He never was obtrusive at all but a welcomed accompaniment to an awesome dinner. There is no doubt when I go out to Brooks, we will be returning for another awesome experience at Wasana. I may have to go this weekend!! LOLIf you are driving by, do stop by it truly is worth it. Bon Appetit.

This is a great restaurant. The entrance (door and staircase); not so much. It would appear that the restaurant has no control over anything beyond its front door. A pity, as some people might think that this is an insalubrious venue. Once inside the restaurant, patrons will see that this place is spick and span, and provides a welcoming, pleasant environment. We tried their hot Las Vegas Roll, and their Jumbo Dragon Roll. Both were excellent, as was their Japanese Green Tea, and Green Tea Ice Cream.

All dishes are good at this place. When you like a little spicy the one with the cashew is really nice. Nothing is too much for the couple that runs this place. Very friendly and they do everything to make their customers happy.

Sam's Oriental Restaurant

A hot bowl of wonton soup and a variety of foods on the buffet were our lunches yesterday. Our only complaint was that the soup was too salty, but still it was full of great flavors. The buffet had 8-9 selections, not huge, but tasty nevertheless. A cold salad or raw vegetables would have made a nice addition. The shrimp in a light sauce was very good, also the fried rice and thirdly, the Cambodian spring rolls were the favorites. The noodle dishes were also very fresh and delicious.
