We returned for a âquickâ bite after a long day and stayed for hours. The service and the food are so good that we relaxed, had beverages of our choice and enjoyed the evening. I had a salad and smallish pizza and my wife and daughter shared appetizers and pasta and lamb. Wine selection canât be beat, by the way. I can recommend Detterra.

I think George Washington was here during the war- I would need to fact check that- but the food is delish and property itself is classical renovated with warm gray tones- I especially love the bar area for lunch and the outdoor seating. Wonderful raw bar and great service. Parking in the back-

The setting is an older building with a nice landscaped area. The interior was divided into a number of separate dinning spaces so there was a degree of intimacy. The noise level was controlled and it was easy to carry on conversation. Our cocktails were fine. The wine by the glass list was ok. Our food was excellent and the waitstaff very helpful. Numerous 4-top tables. Very clean. Fast service. Cup of white bean soup was not as hot as I like it but was tasty. My wife had the "Chicken Salad Sandwich" which arrived on nearly 1" toast slices. Large pieces of chicken, and sliced cranberries. Very tasty. MY main course was the "Crab Cake sandwich". This was served on a grilled brioche and had bacon and tomato for dressing. The crabcake was 3/4" thick and had much visible whole crabmeat chunks. It was delicious. Sweet Potato Fries had a tasty coating. Plain Fries were also coated with a tasty crispy batter. Really crowded on a late Sunday morning but the wait was not long, about 20 minutes. Thereâs a deli side and restaurant side with a huge menu of traditional delicatessen delights you find in an authentic Jewish deli, as well as numerous American breakfast and lunch options. And thereâs a free pickle bar with various pickles, peppers, coleslaw, and sauerkraut, which is a nice touch. I ordered a pastrami and corned beef sandwich with 12 oz of meat on rye and it was absolutely one of the best sandwiches Iâve ever had. The meat had incredible flavor and was sliced perfectly. The American hoagie and Italian hoagie were both decent, but nothing outstanding in my opinion. Not much difference in taste between the two. The onion ring order was gigantic but I felt it lacked seasoning. The cheesecake was divine! Rich, creamy, light, and not overly dense, and with real whipped cream on top. Just delicious beyond words. Excellent service and very good prices considering the quality and quantity of food. We will definitely be back even though we live an hour away.

I love the witberry beer. Love it. I would go here every week for the beer alone. I also would have loved to order some lunch. Or be offered a menu. Or be acknowledged before other people who sat after me. Or be acknowledged at all. Third time we have left without being offered a menu. Your food could be awesome for all I know, but this paying customer who eats out roughly 3 times a week will never know. We recently had a birthday meal at the Spring House Tavern. We started with appetizers of a Baked Onion Soup and an item called Massachusetts Yacht Club Salmon Bites. The onion soup was a nice French onion style soup, but was actually a little sweet. The salmon bites were nothing very interesting; ground up salmon with some form of filler with an aioli for added flavor since the salmon bites did not have much flavor of their own. For our entrees we selected the Spring House Famous Crab Cakes and the New Jersey Scallops. We didn't realize that the entrees included a house salad, if we had we would have skipped the appetizers. Our entrees were served with fried potato wedges and green beans as a vegetable. The potato wedges were nicely seasoned, the green beans plan. As for the entrees, there were a total of 3 pan seared scallops with a lemon beurre blanc sauce. These were enjoyable, but I would have preferred a little browner outside sear. As for the crabcakes, I was surprised how big these were. And they contained a large majority of crab, without any noticeable filler and no shell bits. They were absolutely delicious; by far the best crabcakes either of us has ever had, and we've tried many. I highly recommend this item.After our meal, we retired to the bar where we had a couple of alchohol infused coffees.

We were a party of three for lunch. The entree was excellent, and I had salmon. I think that the desserts are overpriced, however, for the portion size. The server was slow, but she was the only one serving during the lunch hour. Although we felt a bit crowded in the small space, we did have a good experience overall.

We always come here when visiting from nc. Our 94 year old father loves the calves liver and onions. However, the rest of us like the fish dishes. The pork and beef are great two. Go between 5 and 630 during week, get special pricing. Cannot go wrong here.Thank you for the kind words - we are thrilled that you are able to come and visit us!
