Absolutely lovely place with lovely staff and a great owner and manager. We stayed in an Air B+B close by and had food and beer there for 3 nights and it couldn't have been nicer. The staff were all friendly and down to earth. On our first night we ate and drank and the ower was taking all his staff into Assen for a concert and night out. He brought us a beer and allowed us to sit outside and finish at our leisure. I would absolutely recommend this place. I will def be going back to sample the Dutch hospitality.

We drove by and saw his restaurant. Didn't plan but had a great meal. I ordered so extra things because it all was so good sounding (and tasted good as well)

Interesting combination of a pub, mid-end restaurant (e.g. pancakes) and a more high-end brasserie. We opted for 1 luxury mealsize pancake and 1 high-end codfish meal with paksoi and similarly matched vegetables. Were impressed by both: pancake well done with huge toppings, and the brasserie meal was great and beat nextdoor Van der Valk restaurant both in taste and value-for-money! Quick service and friendly staff to top it all up.Thank you for your comment! What a big compliment this is for us! A big thank you from the staff and we hope to see you again!
