Nice, cozy place. Interior looks like a loghouse, good athmosphere. Nice, polite crew. The Canadian flags outside pretend that it's a Canadian restaurant. It isn't! Poutine, Nanaimo bar, butter tarts, tourtière....none of them available. New Orleans cheese nuggets, New Zealand lamb, Yellowstone steak.....geography problems? Confusing. My choice: Mustardsoup ( good) and Alberta (!) pork tenderloin. Kind of dry and limited flavour The curled fries are not real potatoes but made of flour. Anyways, all together, it was OK to be there with the family but not my first choice to go back soon.

In de eerste week dat het restaurant onder de nieuwe eigenaren open zijn hier gegeten. Mooi, nostalgisch pand op een schitterende locatie gelegen. Huiskamersfeer doordat er verschillende kleinere ruimten zijn, die overigens wel met elkaar in verbinding staan. Prettig ingericht.Vriendelijke bediening (sommige nog wat onwennig), heerlijke huiswijn!Van het huis een broodje met tapenade en kruidenboter.De kaart is niet uitgebreid, maar wat er uit de keuken komt is van TOP kwaliteit! Mooi opgemaakt, geen poespas.Na het voorgerecht kwam er een amuse soep op tafel. Heerlijk hartig, om de smaakpapillen te doen openen, werd ons uitgelegd. Dat was ook zeker zo, alle vier mochten we genieten van een uitstekend bereidde entrecote van het Drents weiderund. Subliem! Op tafel risotto, frietjes met huisgemaakte mayonaise, gestoofde prei en rabarber. Ook allemaal goed van smaak, al vind ik persoonlijk rabarber een voorjaarsgroente, dus niet zo passen in de herfst.Als afsluiter genoten we van huisgemaakt lekkers met een kopje koffie.Al met al een aanwinst voor de omgeving, wij komen terug!

Service is very good, and it is clear that everyone enjoys their meals here.We just had a main course each, and a glass of wine, but got a lovely bread served as an appetizer, with creamy/fluffy garlic butter and tapenade.The quality of each of the dishes was very nice, and presentation on the plates was picture perfect. Side dishes (2 different types of potato, a cooked spinach dish with egg and a small bowl of salad) were good too, but not special.There is plenty of choice of wine by the glass.Only negative point is that (again) this is one of the restaurants that charges almost 5 euro for a bottle of what is basically tap water - that spoils it. They need to change that.

I had a Sunday Roast on - really - a Sunday evening and the food was great, although the roast itself was a rather small portion of meat,m greens and potaties. But especially the starters and the desserts were amazing great.Dear Wijtze,Thank you for your kind review! In the future, please let us know when you expected a bit more on your plate. Dwingerloo has quite a few attractive looking restaurants, but we choose this one due to its location over looking the Brink (which is a bit like a village green). This turned out to be a good choice. Its a pleasant grand cafe, with friendly staff. We had the selection of seafood starters, which turned out to be a good choice. Excellent quality and not expensive.

This restaurant is one of the finest in Hoogeveen. A relaxed atmosphere, wonderful food and great drinking. We were pleasantly surprised by the food this place serves. Original, tasty and fresh dishes. The chef sure knows where to get his ingrediënts, they mostly come from small localsuppliers. When you look at the menu, you know what I mean. Special mention is the extensive beer collection they serve, for every course they match the food with a great beer. Btw. that also applies for the wines they serve. To top this the folks that serve you are very nice and give good explanation about food and drink. Well worth a visit when you're in Hoogeveen!

This is a hotel-restaurant in the center of Dwingeloo, opposite the church. I have not slept there but have heard its very good. I visit the restaurant every now and then for either lunch or a snakc or coffee. I think the ambiance is excellent. Inside are many cosy coeners and tables to sit and relax, and outside they have a nice terrace with tables and chairs but also with nice lounge-benches. Absolutely good foor. I can only recommend this place.

In een eigentijdse gezellige ambiance (licht industrieel) biedt dit restaurant zeer smakelijke gerechten. Verrassend was de amuse! Er is een uitgebreide wijnkaart, met ook ruime keuze in wijnen per glas. Vriendelijke bediening met verstand van zaken! Ruime privacy biedende plaatsen, met sommigen zicht op open keuken. De menukaart biedt een goede keuze is vis-, vlees-, en vegetarische gerechten. Salade en frieten zijn apart te bestellen. Als extra service krijg je ma ontvangst een karaf water en wat broodjes met olijfolie, boter en zeezout. Een restaurant om zeker nog eens terug te komen! NB Je kan er ook overnachten!

I really shouldn't endorse this restaurant as I run the risk it's getting to famous :-) The food and ambiance is great, as a guest you 're treated as a guest not as a money machine. If you're lucky the boss will tell you stories about his hometown and country. It's great to be here.
