Nothing special but it was definitely an easy place to stop and grab a quick meal. Disappointed the chain has stopped selling the carved turkey. $6 daily special for 12" is a good value and feeds 2 (they will fix and wrap each half separate if you ask)

I have eaten here a few times over the years. During my visit in September 2019, I found the food to be greatly improved. The food here is quite pricey, but there are limited options in town. They have pizzas, calzones, and salads, with gluten free options.

Bringing Central Texas style BBQ to the Eastern Sierras. We are a fast casual restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We offer house smoked Prime Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, Organic Turkey Breast, Pulled Pork and a variety of sides and vegetarian options
Stopped here for dinner with four other couples. You order at the counter and they call you when your order is ready. I had the brisket sandwich and my wife had the turkey sandwich. Neither sandwich came any BBQ on it but there are three choice on the condiments table which we adequate. Sandwiches came with potato chips. Neither sandwiches tasted all that fresh and were just ok at best. The baked beans were not eatable and the cold slaw fared only slightly better. We ordered a small bottle of wine (2 glasses) and the total bill was slightly over $42. Way over priced for what they are serving. I would look elsewhere for a dinner house.

Nice western style. We were seated fast and the friendly lady took our order quickly. 30 min wait to be served salads and burgers (all together!). Burger was ok, not more. Fries were good. Salad had probably been prepared hours ago, so looked a bit "tired". All in all ok, but would probably go elsewhere next time.

Located next to the Mount Whitney trail head
We drove the switchbacks to the end of Mount Whitney Portal Road appreciating the gorgeous views on the way up and more beautiful views on the way down. There is parking at the end of Mount Whitney Portal Road. We took time to enjoy the scenery and water fall. We ate burgers at the Portal Store. If not that hungry then share because the burgers are huge. The Portal Store had Alaskan Amber Ale as well as other drink selections.

Guys loved their burgers and our son was impressed with the side salad. I had a great tuna melt and opted for rye instead of menus sour dough. I had the coleslaw which was plentiful but a bit tasteless. Good service. The place was hopping.

Ordered flank steak. Delicious. Asked for medium rare and it came out red and juicy. Just the way we like it. Place was crowded and pretty loud. That's the reason for the four stars instead of 5.Bread was excellent. Ordered the onion soup and it was some of the best I've ever had

We stopped here for breakfast after staying overnight in Death Valley. Despite arriving quite early it was still very busy here and we waited 10-15 minutes for a table (this doesnt bother us!). Staff were very attentive and the breakfast selection was huge. Everything was cooked fresh and the bakery selection looked incredible. So incredible we ended up buying a huge cherry pie because we needed to try for ourselves - it was divine! My favourite breakfast from our whole road trip across Arizona and California, just felt really authentic and this place clearly cares about making a good meal. Meal was huge but this is normal i think for most traditional cafes here.
