The dinner started off nice with endless bread from an enthusiastic waiter (shout-out Brian). While we were waiting for the food took a trip to the bathroom... SO NICE. Full length mirror, good sanitation and a pleasing aroma. When our dinner arrived I was very pleased by my meal, however the portions are very small. One of my friends that ordered the fettachini Alfredo said that hers tasted very lemony. Other than this minor setback I would totally recommend this place for anyone looking for a fancy restaurant. Whether it’s to impress a date, flex that you are well off, or for an anniversary dinner, Ciao Bella is the place to be!

Came here with a friend who recommended it; and I was glad she did. The space was clean, in good repair, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially around special diets. Even with multiple food allergies, I was able to get a nice meal that was hot and fresh. I would absolutely go back.

Stopped in to have lunch at 12:30. Had the tuna melt which was wonderful. Husband had the double bacon burger which he thought was okay, just missed the mark taste wise. Had coleslaw for our sides. This is the worst coleslaw we have had in our lives. Wait staff never checked back in with us until we were three quarters of the way done with our meal. Explained that the coleslaw was awful & didn't have any dressing. We were told that's the way it is served there. Gave us a side of fries, which I do not like, but our meal was over.

Overall a good experience. Was going to do a Reuben, but was afraid of being disappointed. I’m pretty picky about my Ruebens. Tried a Patty Melt which was so-so. Came with soggy bottom bread. Ended up eating just the patty, because it was so fat it did not extend to the edges of the bread. Did not care for the sauce they put on it. The french fries were just warm. SO had root beer pulled pork sandwich which was really good, but his fries were only warm too. I hesitate to complain at a restaurant, but I guess I need to do so. I would try the place again, the ambience is great, and it is extremely clean. The staff was pleasant also. We did have the cheese curds which were really good.

I would definitely recommend calling ahead, no matter what day because seating is limited. It saved us an hour wait. Parking is so so, we parked around the corner on a side street, up a hill. When we arrived we were greeted and brought to our table right away. Our waiter was very personable and very attentive. The one downfall is it is very loud and hard to hear the people you are with. The onion and bacon dip was amazing. Steak sandwich melts in your mouth. The braised beef was a tad dry but still good. Overall, it was worth the stop.

Mill Valley Kitchen

Wow, it has made me very sad that this restaurant, our very favorite, has slowly deteriorated in past year. Bar tending skills are noticeable - drinks are mostly ice and a twist is a gouge our of a lemon or lime. All the wonderful staff are gone. The "hen" has been removed from the menu and other entrees seem very expensive for what you get. I also miss the wonderful buzz that one felt as they entered the restaurant. Other restaurants are competing in the area and they have more reasonably priced entrees and in case Mill Valley hasn't noticed, cocktails are a big deal today and most places have bar tenders who know what they are doing. Perhaps we will try in a few months to give them another chance to improve, but it feels like the spirit of the place is gone.

Enjoyed OPH Omelette and changed option to Goat Cheese. Also shared GF pancakes with my wife who has a Gluten Allergy. Always tasty and fast. Get there early or for brunch or call ahead to put your name on the list which will save you time when you get there. Interior of restaurant is dated but that’s part of why it’s the OPH. Servers are fast and courteous.
