Pre fixe dinner served only two nights a week. Portions are very small, but there are a few courses and a different wine with every course. No before dinner cocktails included, which adds to the $85. PP cost, which includes tax and tip. Service was friendly and attentive. Cozy setting.

I was looking for a good dinner after arriving in Blue Hill and found Marlintini's on the main road. The server was very friendly and I asked for her suggestions which was a good choice. Between the ribs and the haddock basket she suggested the haddock. It was excellent. Not greasy or oily at all. Very thin "breaking" which was crisp and fries that were also "just right". Not oily. The tartar sauce was the best I've ever had. I will eat here again before I leave town.

Go for the overall experience...food is OK, limited menu, beers good, nice bar area...feels like Caribbean transported to Maine! If the weather is nice, sit outside and let the kids enjoy the old lobster boat that forms a play area!! Creative, fun, don’t take it too seriously and you will enjoy it!!

We had a wonderful dinner last night. We started with the fries, oyster tostadas and mussel--all wonderful. For our entrees, two had the special halibut, one had the duck confit rigatoni, a lazy lobster, pork chop and fried chicken. All were delicious, as were the desserts, a watermelon lemon sorbet and a s'mores pie. Wonderful friendly server and prompt service. All in all a very nice night.

My wife ordered the tuna sandwich and I opted to try their signature dish, a haddock currie on rice. not having been there before I wanted to try their stuff. I also opted for their fresh brewed iced tea - not a sweet tea like in NC or VA. the tuna was very nice but the curry was outstanding in its own bowl. I almost finished it. the haddock was in bite sized pieces. the curry, light as it was, took care of any possible fish taste. I was asked if the dish was a "taste of Maine". I said no, tasted better. looked like a lot of other good stuff on the menu. I'll return.

We have dined at Barncastle twice now. The first time we chose an entrée and were not very impressed. The second visit was for pizza, however, and this time the meal made up for the shortcomings of visit number one. Barncastle apparently inherited the pizza recipes of a former Blue Hill favorite, and they are carrying on the tradition in delicious style.

This is an ideal restaurant for a special occasion. It is tastefully appointed and the food was attractively presented and served in a timely fashion.Minor problems were that the dining room can be noisy at the height of the dining hour and that the quality of the desserts did not live up to the quality of the rest of the meal.
