What to do and see in Stare Miasto, Southern Poland: The Best Jazz Clubs & Bars

March 24, 2022 Vivienne Hutton

Krakow is one of the most culturally and politically significant cities in Poland. It was the central site of the Nazi General Government during WWII, and there’s still a residual feeling of solemnity here that’s especially apparent during visits to the Plaszow Concentration Camp and the Oskar Schindler Factory. Both the Historic City Centre and the Jewish District are brimming with cafés, shops, and pubs, and the 10-acre Main Market Square is a medieval feast for the senses.

This bar without a doubt is the best! As soon as you enter you feel like you've stepped back in time. The music, the furniture, glassware and atmosphere. We always make a point of sitting at the bar to interact with the staff, watch them create and enjoy our drinks. The cocktail menu is a combination of classics with a twist to some chemistry. What these guys create can only be sampled to be believed. If you thought you knew cocktails - you don't until you land here

Club Jaszczury

Klub Pod Jaszczurami is the oldest students' club in this city. Through many years it had become a legend among academic cultural activities. It gathers students and alumnus of Cracow universities and helps to develop their cultural spirit. It's a place of the history and memories of incredible, unforgettable artists. This club is a place of important social and cultural events, meetings with celebrities and important personages. Moreover you can find here amazing concerts, cabarets, dancing parties, Erasmus Students gathering and theological discussions. There's a summer garden in front of the local where you can enjoy the incredible location of the club and admire the view of the Cloth Hall, the St. Mary's Basilica and the Church of St. Adalbert. There's a gothic hall in the club that is one of the five existing places in Poland that represents a stunning, gothic, asymmetric vault - which figures on the UNESCO World Heritage list. This makes the club incredibly attractive to visit. The old 'Theater 38', as a part of the club, seems to be a perfect place for organizing an integration events and parties, celebrating or some cozy meetings with friends.
