If you love horses and wildlife, please come here! We had a great riding-safari and were lucky enough to even see the giraffes! Our guides Marie and Alec were very knowledgeable and took great care of us. We felt very safe the whole time and it was just an incredible experience :-) A must-try is also the homemade pizza in the beautiful garden of the farm, very yummy.

Amanda and her horses are amazing... she somehow knows exactly which horse will suit you. My horse kroon and my BF’s horse Victor were the perfect match for us. The trail she then took us on was beautiful it felt as though we were transported into another world. So tranquil in the lush forest just what we were looking for to end off or trip up the garden route... Thank you so much Amanda we will definitely be back.

Beachcomber Horse Trails

Reviewed By Helma_Smit - Cape Town Central, South Africa

What an unforgettable bucket-lust adventure. Sure-footed, enthusiastic horses who cantered, swam , climbed steep hills and were consistently steady during the beach rides, river trails and game viewing. Even though I am still a novice when it comes to horse riding, Jono paired me with first Hazel and later Abby - and both of them were a perfect fit. I never felt unsafe through out this amazing adventure and both of them carried me with the utmost care. We experienced breathtaking views, enjoyed and enjoyed exceptional home-made food. I loved the tented camp, the farm dogs, wildlife and the interaction with Jono and his team (Edain our trail guide, Catherine the wonderful cook and Thulane who helped with the horses, the swims and trekking us around). Jono also went out of his way to add to our adventure and we enjoyed late afternoon sunsets on the beach and end off with an excillerating boat ride on the Kariega river. I met the most wonderful and exceptional group of people that made this adventure unforgettable. I would most defintely recommend Beachcomber Horse Trails to anyone who loves to experience the outdoors on horseback.

Stormy Hill Trails & Tails

Stormy Hill is Caroline's home on the edge of the Drakensberg escarpment where horses and hounds flourish. Here, guests are entertained to a lifestyle experience constituting an introduction to the horses of the hill and a guided ride in the surrounding areas. Explore the local countryside on horse back and generally let yourself get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily life. All our horses are well-tempered and each has its own personality, which is taken into account when matching horse to rider.

What a great horse riding experience for us as novices! First time for my husband and I doing a trail ride together and it was absolutely lovely. Caroline really does take the time to help you understand and feel comfortable on the horse and trail, and she is most welcoming and very friendly. We spent one night in the cottage/house on our way back to JHB, and the accommodation had everything we needed for a comfortable and super relaxing stay - the almost panoramic views from inside the lounge was also a pleasure to get up to in the morning. Thank you Caroline!

Kaapsehoop Horse Trails Volunteer Project

Reviewed By Reyahopemarron - Honolulu, United States

I stayed and volunteered at Kaapsehoop horse trails for 3 weeks and had an absolutely amazing, impactful, and learning filled experience. Everyone at the project were incredibly welcoming and kind and were there to help me as much as I needed to get acclimated and learn as much as I could. Christo, Mariska, and Leon were supportive and safe and incredibly knowledgeable and skilled with the horses. This opportunity really helped me to grow and be more confident in myself and how I show up to help out and serve. I felt genuinely supported the entire time and left feeling full of gratitude, amazing unique experiences, and memories that I will cherish and will stick with me for a very long time! It is a once in a lifetime experience to bask in the beauty of the mountains and nature at the volunteer project. A place to soak in serene and peaceful surroundings and to learn new skills or deepen skills you already have with horsemanship. The authenticity and genuine care is palpable here and this volunteer project is absolutely well worth a visit. Thank you for such an incredible experience!! -Reya
