Stock was lovely , fresh and well priced with a well organized shop and efficient and friendly staff. I had a few inquiry on a product and even got a recipe from them on how to prepare it.

After staying a few days at nearby accommodation, we dropped in on the advice of our host. It was not a full tasting but the Pepper Tree shiraz is the best of its style I have found in the Cape. Our helpful lady also allowed us to try both Gewurztraminers - the dry version of which hit the mark. The tasting room is excellent with clear notes, Platters awards and we were assisted to the car with our trove. A true gem among the forest of valley vineyards.

a short stroll from the main drag and you come upon this pottery....the place is bursting with beautifully crafted wood fired and salt glazed porcelain and stoneware....some of the creations are simply stunning....unusual takes on everyday ware as well as pieces designed to be shown off in their own space.....it's a bit pricey but each piece is unique....just pop in and take a look....

Ibis is a small and informal gallery owned by Carolyn Metcalfe and Hennie Kok, used as exhibition space for our own work and other artists where we can sell at reasonable prices and engage directly with the public. Don't miss a stop at this spot in Montagu. There they are, a huge collection of Ibis birds doing their thing just off the middle of the town.
