Asle Ta

Reviewed By Per-Olov L - Gotene, Sweden

Well posted from the main roads.
This is the place where the poorest lived in a village. Walk around the village. Each house has its own story. The story of the house is presented outside each house. The signs are in Swedish, but I think the café has a broschure in English.
Apart from all the houses there is a museum with coaches and farm equipment. There is also a water mill.
My 9 year old grandchild and my 80 year old mother in law both loved it. This is a very different side of Sweden which is rarely seen. Most of these places are long gone.

Gudhems Klosterrruin

It is nice to visit this historic site and to see the beautiful landscape all around. If one has read the fiction books about the crusader knight Arn or seen the movies this is the monastery where the nuns lived. Recomended visit.

Ekornavallen

Drive a few hours from Stockholm or Gothenburg and stop in this field to experience one of the great monolithic historical sites in Sweden. At over 4,000 years old, the stones in this field mark a time gone by with a passage tomb, a cairn, a set of upright stones and "judgment stones".
A thin place in Sweden to draw you in.

Allebergs Segelflygmuseum

Ållebergs Segelflygmuseum is a must visit while visiting the Falbygden area. Only about 8Km outside the city Falköping the beautiful rural road leads you on top of the beaute type mountain Ålleberg, it´s air field, camping, para-glider take-off site, a small restaurant and the museum with spectacular views of the surrounding areas.
The guide and other people at the museum is extremely knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm.

Falbygdens Museum

This is a small museum focusing on ancient history, the stone -, bronze- and ironage. There are a lot of tools especially mad from flint and copies of graves.
There are 2 high points: 1. The "raspberry girl" , the story about her and a film how they made her face real. 2. The golden necklaces and the film about the details in one necklace.
My granddaughter has just studied the period in school and she found it fascinating.
The last part of the history of Falköping, the last 1000 years needs to be improved. Now there is a mishmash of things and an incomprehensible film.

S:t Olofs Kyrka

Reviewed By Oldis2014 - Vasteras, Sweden

Bjurum Kyrka

Reviewed By Danes55 - Holstebro, Denmark

Falkoping Alpin

Reviewed By Maneck - London, United Kingdom

Learnt to ski here with my kids. We'd never been skiing before and after three days we were skiing as a family. The runs are small compared to the Alps but this makes it really fabulous for new skiers or families with children learning to ski. Really family friendly, with lots of people happy to help dig your children out after a spill.Everyone was fabulous, the kit rental place was 5 stars, the people running the slops were 5 stars, the ski school was 5 stars and even the cafe was 5 stars. £1.50 for a hot dog! We're going back next year

Konstgarden Redberga

Reviewed By Johnny D - Saro, Sweden
