Sitting down to watch, listen, smell and taste so many dishes being cooked was amazing. The chef was friendly and cheerful and so knowledgeable in his craft. Cannot even begin to describe how amazing the food was and there was so many little courses that I couldn't keep up! Will definitely return.

Eaten here 3 times now. Firstly, this is a Japanese restaurant. Why this is it that when I walk in and say "Konbanwa" the staff have no idea. Likewise "Arigatōgozaimashita" is met with blank stares and laughter that the staff dont speak Japanese. A simple gesture to learn some phrasing....So first up the lunches. I had the Katsu Pork Curry on both occasions while my mate had the Ramen. The pork was really nice the first time and the curry was very good. Mild and flavourful. The second time I went there the pork was dry and chewy and the miso tasted very old. I tried a third time for dinner with a mate and did not expect the twist this place does on food. The gyoza was standard, but very nice. My friend had salmon sushi, which he said was the bomb. I had a pork meat ball katsu curry. At first I was a bit surprised, but the flavour was great. Overall, I's say this is a solid place to eat. One mediocre meal out of three, but the third one was nice. Great atmosphere.

I visited Tansawa again an year after my first experience. The place improved. all staff is wearing nice kimonos. I ordered classic miso soup and sashimi plate. Miso soup was delicious. then sashimi came. I couldn't start eating it, because dish was so nice, like an art picture, so it was sad to damage it. you can see picture which I uploaded.service was incredibly great as per Japanese traditions.Hi Danlelg san, So glad to see you and hope to see you again if you're ever back in town.Thank you for your review. we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit.Cheers!
