Driving down from NY to Richmond, my wife was tasked with finding us a tasty & non-fast food, roadside lunch for our family. Bul Go Gi came up as a "not-to-be-missed" "don't be turned off by its spartan, strip mall appearance" with "authentic and wonderful Korean food offerings". Check. Check. And, check! We ordered the kimchi pancake (copious plate of food), LA style kalbi (bone-in), vegetable yakisoba, bibimbap with beef. Everything was fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious! We were so happy we stopped here. The owner/chef/waiter couldn't have been nicer. There is a self-serve fridge with soft drink offerings as well as hard-to-find Korean beers. Only wish we had a place like this bear our home in NY! Highly recommend!!!

The food here is very good. The atmosphere is bare bones but clean, if unremarkable. The staff is friendly. My main concern is that over the last few years the prices have really sky-rocketed and the portions have simultaneously shrunk to near comedic levels. The bulgogi dinner is at best a light appetizer volume which is teeny tiny. A tiny amount of cabbage and a tiny amount of beef hardly seems worth the price.I do love the quality.
I'm really particular about where and what I eat for Chinese food. They've recently remodeled and reopened and the interior is very nice. There are more tables to eat in but we usually do carry out. Have consistently had good tasting, fresh and good quality food.

Stafford small business serving up authentic Thai food and the freshest sushi in the area since March 2011
Great sushi and Thai food. A helpful note: The curry is naturally spicy. Unless you can eat a fresh jalapeño whole without sipping some water, I suggest going for the mild dish. With that being said, fully recommend this gem in Stafford, VA.
Copious quantity of meat with veggies and rice - we actually prefer brown instead of white. Nothing special, but we always enjoy getting more meals for the price of one, so that seems to be the Chinese restaurant advantage.

Umi's is by far one of the best restaurant in the north Stafford area. It is clean, the food is fresh, and the service is fabulous. They offer plenty of free parking in their parking lot and are easy to get to. We have gone several times and have always had excellent food. Their sushi is the best, but their other menu items such as tempura or noodles are excellent as well. The wait staff has alway been friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers a long bar area as well as a nice dining room.

We just fell on this place while looking for something other than fast food nearby. The reviews are right. This is a good local sushi bistro. The Bento beef box was good, not fantastic and the asparagus were a bit tough. But the sushi deluxe was excellent with 9 pieces, 2 of each kind. With the miso soup and salad that came with it, we had more than enough food. All for $53 before tax including one wine and one beer. Well worth it.

Whenever we are in Northern Va and crave some Chinese food, this was our go to place.....usually all dishes are well prepared and tasty....not today! Shrimp fried rice was off...too much soy sauce....they don't usually add soy sauce...beef teriyaki was ok....a little salty ...the spring rolls which are usually veggie, were horrible....chewy not flakey or crisp....Maybe they have a new cook?Luckily we did not order a lot of food as we were not that hungry....This real bummed me out as WE always loved the Asian restaurant....so will we try again? Maybe we will give it one more try however we will also be searching for a new Chinese restaurant in this area.

At the suggestion of a co-worker who frequents this restaurant, I agreed to something that is hard to cook poorly--chicken curry.I was blown AWAY!! It had just the right amount of spice and was loaded with flavor. Portion size was huge, too!The owner and employees were friendly and even recognized my co-worker! It smells delicious when you first walk in the restaurant. I will absolutely be back!

We stopped in here one night for supper and were glad we did.My wife got the Chicken Bento Box, and she loved it. I got the Curry Don, and I did find the curry flavor weak and there was no heat in the curry, but it was still very good.We wouldn't hesitate to go back and recommend you try it if you are in the area.
