My second time to eat at a Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, and this meal was as exceptional as my first Cheddar's experience at another location.Sunday evening and the restaurant was half full. I was seated quickly, greeted by my waitress and a drink was delivered in minutes. I chose the Chicken Fried Steak served atop a piece of Texas toast and topped with country gravy. I was allowed to choose two sides, I didn't have to go with the default sides of mashed potatoes and green beans. I selected the Broccoli Cheddar casserole and a loaded baked potato, both excellent. The waitress also got me an extra bowl of their country style gravy because gravy is one of my favorite food groups! You can never have too much gravy.Plenty of excellent dishes to choose from. Hamburgers, seafood, comfort food like meatloaf, and beautiful desserts too.

The Princess tends to favor the Baked Schrod while I usually go for some kind of fried fish, and we both love the Baked Squash so much we have tried to duplicate it at home! It has a little bit of a sweet taste but not overpowering. The salads are excellent but the silly shoestring potatoes are just kitschy and added empty carbs (ask for them to be left off). You will still have a lovely house salad with crispy greens, bacon bits, tommytoe tomatoes, and shredded cheese.

Ordered breakfast to go & haven't been back since - never will!! Over $20 for 2 breakfasts without beverages & one so filled with raw onions it was inedible! YUCK!!!When a customers request for raw onions is made, we make sure we give onions, if your complaint is onions then why didn't speak to me, Angelo, that way we can correct the issue on the spot, why wait and complain, what does that fix, it doesn't satisfy you nor me? Or when you saw the food at register, and looked, said all is well! :)I like to respond to those who feel, they had a bad experience after they leave and post something negative, why is that?, are you afraid of speaking to a server or me at that. We normally like to make it right. So which is it I should believe, your late posting, or telling us at the register, everything was great? Couldn't have been bad cause either you threw away the $20 for two to eat, or you just want me to beg you to come back to hustle me again. Your past contributions to trip adviser are not good enough for anyone, so your ratings as a contributor is 5 from tripadvisor. AngeloOh, almost forgot, in my area alone there is more than enough eateries to satisfy the hungry of hungriest! Good Luck, finding the perfect eatery to your expectations and ratings!!

We were trekking to Knoxville for an event and left Md early, so we needed a good lunch place. Just over the line in Tennessee, this place hit the mark. The dry ribs were the best, and the selection of 5 sauces really terrific. The raspberry dessert really tasty and a huge portion. Very nice. The waiter was very prompt and the venue one of a kind.

I enjoyed an excellent birthday lunch with friends at the cafe recently. The service was very quick and our waitress was very personable. The food, cooked by chef Tim Blevins, was outstanding. I love the Asian influence infused into the food and decor. I would easily recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We were there for lunch during our visit to the "Birthplace of Country Music Museum" (which I thoroughly recommend). The atmosphere is nostalgic as you would imagine. There was a crowd with people waiting for seating to become available. The food was good enough to rate an above average rating. HOWEVER, what completely tainted the experience was the waitress' attempt to short change us. (If the owner or a manager reads this and care's enough to pursue it, our receipt number (which I still have) is JB3U, Table Booth 2, 12:21 pm). The restaurant has a policy to charge extra if you use a credit card, which is fine since it is stated upfront and I understand the economics of a merchant credit card discount fee charged by the credit card companies. I paid with a $100 bill. The waitress gave me an excessive amount of $1 bills in the change which normally would be okay but can be a "red flag". I counted my change. It was exactly $5 short. I can understand a mistake as everyone makes one occasionally. However, the waitress's behavior afterwards let us know it was no mistake. She saw I was counting the change and exhibited an "oh, crap" look on her face and quickly looked away. Then I tried to get her attention for several minutes while she completely ignored me even while turning towards the customers. I finally had to go up and tap her on the shoulder to get her to acknowledge me. I explained to her that she had shorted me $5. I then told her to just keep that as it was her gratuity. I am a fourth generation business owner and would not tolerate an employee attempting to pull that on one of my customers. I am not sure why the Burger Bar management does. Next time, we will try the lunch counter across the street at the "pawn shop" on State Street as it was highly recommended as well.

The aroma wafting on the night air had me anxious to try some of this fare.Unpretentious, clean, cozy, down home, hole in the wall cafe.Fast, pleasant service with family type atmosphere. Tried their meat loaf with the first serving of collard greens I've had since what seems like forever. I wasn't disappointed. It's obvious from the nearly full house that the locals patronize this place, since it's not on the way to anywhere. The proprietor visits every table to assure patron satisfaction. This type of attention doesn't happen in a big chain restaurant. Well worth searching this place out.By the way, the meat loaf was excellent!

Bristol is the halfway point when traveling to an annual family outing. J Frank was rated so well on Trip Advisor that we decided to try it out. It was Fabulous!!! We had seating in the outdoor dining area, it was a delightful evening. There were 2 couples and we started with drinks & small plates. Two had gin martinis, one a vodka martini, & I had a vodka gimlet. Since I wasn’t driving I had a second one. Yummy & cheers for all. The appetizers we shared were crab hushpuppies & salmon dip. These were very good. For our entree each couple ordered the Chilean Sea Bass & split. There was a slight split fee & well worth it. This might have been one of the tastiest pieces of fish my husband & I have had. It was cooked to perfection. The cherry tomato risotto it was served over was delicious. Our shared sides were Brussels sprouts & pimento cheese grits. I love cheese grits & these were oh so very good. The chef has a key lime cake that we shared for dessert. It was very good. We made friends with the people sitting at the next table & they were telling us about the restaurant & it’s owner, Jason. As we were leaving my brother in law, who has to use a walker, was having a hard time with his neuropathy & difficultly walking. The 3 of us were helping him to the sidewalk when the nicest gentleman offered us assistance. It turns out that he was Jason, the owner of J Frank. Thank you for your help. We will definitely be back to eat at J Frank on our next trip to Bristol. I highly recommend you give J Frank a try.
