Tucson Bed and Breakfast Inns | Places to Stay in Tucson

April 22, 2023 Leida Jutras

Although Tucson's fantastic weather, national parks and forests and desert provide the perfect environment for tons of outdoor recreational activities, this city of half a million people also has its share of history and culture. With a history that goes back much further than many of its southwestern neighbors, Tucson boasts turn-of-the-century architecture, historic neighborhoods, museums and the Mission San Xavier del Bac, a still-functioning 18th-century mission considered one of the most beautiful in the U.S. Mexican and Native American influences are pervasive, and the city has a distinctly Western flavor. There's also a college-town atmosphere, thanks to the University of Arizona, which has its own share of museums and a science center. Whether golfing at a world-class golf resort, horseback riding, hiking in the wilderness, discovering desert flora and fauna at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum or exploring pre-Columbian and other art at the Tucson Art Museum, you'll have a mind-boggling array of things to do.

Excellent BnB with convenient access to NP hiking

My wife and I enjoyed 4 nights in the DT Guesthouse which provided very convenient access to hiking in Saguaro NP east. Guesthouse was spacious and inviting, bed very comfortable, and breakfast delicious. John prepared one special breakfast item each morning, which we enjoyed very much, but was more than willing to make scrambled or fried eggs if desired. Fruits, cereals etc were also available. Hiking and sightseeing advice and suggestions were there for the asking. Thanks for a great stay!

A stunning, beautiful place to stay!

We stayed at Cat Mountain Lodge at the beginning of our trip and then again at the end. What a beautiful place to rest your head and enjoy the southwest surroundings. The rooms were very well appointed and the outside areas were just gorgeous. I would highly recommend staying here if ever you are in the Tucson area. It is conveniently located to many Tucson attractions, yet when you are there it feels like you are miles away from the hub bub of the city.

Very noisy AC

Extremely noisy air conditioning, about 10 in the evening we heard a jet takeoff or so we thought, we looked at each other and thought we didn't think we're near the airport ......turned out to be the air conditioning unit above our room.... we decided to give it a few minutes and we're sure it would turn off as AC units do in your home when they reach desire temperature... well it didn't it ran all night till 8 a.m. the next morning we got absolutely no sleep and decided to cancel the reservation for the next couple of days and went to another bed and breakfast.... turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we had gone to the Armory Park Inn and absolutely loved it ....have been back many times since. And no I have nothing to do with the a p inn.

I'm not typically the person you want to receive a public review from. I'm overly critical and not timid about sharing my thoughts. My work life was spent in hospitality senior management operating 5-star boutique inns to mega golf resorts all over the world. Now to the point, my wife and I received a gift certificate for the holidays from our daughter for the Armory and choose to use it this week Arriving on the quiet tree-lined street we entered the Armory and immediately were in awe of its beauty and elegance. We felt like we stepped back in the stagecoach days and entered the home of a wealthy family. We were greeted at the entrance by the Inn’s manager with gracious warmth and class making us feel welcome and comfortable. We toured through this beautiful place and remained in awe of everything. Bueatfuil era furniture, elegant and comfortable seating areas, and a peaceful garden with pleasant seating groupings. The Inn’s manager shared the history along the tour, so fun!! and eventually made our way to our room. The room was large with 18-foot ceilings original to the Inn, a very large dressing area, and a beautiful bathroom room. The amenities in our room were 5-star and plentiful, every detail was included. The next morning we were served an excellent homemade delicious breakfast that was prepared from scratch, again by the manager! . The Inn is spotlessly clean and so comfortable we didn't want to leave! We were very fortunate to meet the Inn’s owner, Amy, and it became clear that the quality and elegance start with her and she is fortunate to have a one in a million manager! I'm frankly jealous! This is the place I always wanted to have under my management!

Bare-bones

Reviewed By sarahxing

The Plus: the facility is pretty new (opened in Sep 2021), also vinyl plank instead of carpet, therefore no bad smells. The Minus: everything is minimized to the extreme. There are washcloths, but no hand towels. Toilet paper, but no facial tissue. Mattress, but no box spring (The mattress rests on a metal frame, and slides easily). Stove cooktop (since their selling point is “extended stay”), but no pots/pans or plates/cutlery (they sell them at the front desk; or Walmart is nearby). Exercise gym (with like, 3 machines?), but no swimming pool or hot tub. Frig and microwave, but no breakfast. Conclusion: if it were not new, I wouldn’t have stayed here.
