The Loft provides a very good atmosphere for dining, with a fresh and open seating arrangement on both floors available. The front end staff are very prompt, courteous, and attentive. Reservations are taken, which is always a bonus to us, and so our dinner party arrived on time and were seated immediately.When asked our preference of main floor or upstairs we challenged the hostess to pick and she took us up to :The Loft"The cleanliness, brightness, and local artist paintings speak to the excellent design and build of this establishment, which I am to understand was done by the owner personally. Clearly Excellent at his Craft of building.The menu was interesting as given, with certain choices marked out by a black marker as unavailable, which we found somewhat curious, given what we had experienced until then.Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and pleasant. He also was empowered to make on the fly decisions which is always appreciated. As two couples we chose to share an appetizer of their arancini (risotto surrounding a meatball and deep fried, and served with a marinara sauce), but it normally comes as three. We asked and he added the fourth one on the spot and did not need to "go ask".The house salad was flavorful and light, very well done.But the Entrees there largely disappointing, which is unfortunate given all the positives we felt until then. 4 separate meals were chosen, including one where one of our party challenged the waiter to pick what he would choose as "best".Best of breed, the one good star came to me, having chosen the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. The risotto it was served on was absolutely spot on perfect, the shrimp not rubbery, and a well developed diavolo.Then the recommendation made, a manicotti, which had been crushed and collapsed under the overwhelming weight of too much cheese. Looked more like a lost pizza on the plate. But it was not bad for flavor.Chicken Parmesan with a spaghetti side was choice three, and was also a disappointment. It appeared almost precooked and microwave finished in it's texture, and the spaghetti side was a pasta noodle that they ladled a dull marinara dollop on top. Unfortunate.Equally unfortunate was meal number four, a simple spaghetti and meatballs meal. The meatballs were dense, under seasoned, with little actual flavor. The marinara was again just dropped on top of the pasta noodles, allowing for no flavor bonding when done well. Always finish the noodles in the sauce. As to dessert, while they had choices oe the menu, only one was available and this was just 2 hours after they had opened, so we passed.We all thought we would come back again, because there were many positives. And the Diavolo was outstanding, so the hope is, it is new and the food might improve.

Service was slow but the fantastic food made up for it. We had Calzones and they were so cheesy and crust was thin and crunch. Never had them like that but it was excellent. You could make your own or choose from the specialty ones on the menu. Also the pizza was wonderful with thin crust in a rectangle shape vs the typical round shape. Lots of toppings, no skimping here. Loved the apps that thru the week they offer them for $5.00 which was a big draw for us. We had the loaded fries and cheese sticks. Loved both of them and recommend the cheese fries.

We ate out as a family...enjoyed the delicious meat and cheese ravioli, a steak sandwich with fries, and a white pizza with broccoli and onion. Everyone loved their food. We moved to this area several months ago, and left behind the one restaurant that sold a white pizza. Vinny's serves one, and it is delectable. I ate three pieces instead of my usual two. The large was about 16 inches, so plenty to take home. Our waitress noticed my hungry and getting restless preschool aged grandchildren, and brought us great breadsticks and garlic bread. She was very attentive and helpful.

We were exhausted after traveling up from Charlotte area and visiting a few historical sites. We wanted comfort food. We have gone to Italy several times and did not know what to expect in Lynchburg VA, a rather smaller town for us.We were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and fast. We never had to wait on refills or special requests. The owner came over and chatted with us. He is from Italy and bragged about how his menu is authentic.While we found a few differences (mainly to using American ingredients), we were extremely happy with our meal. The pasta dish, Penne Caprice with GF pasta, was excellent. The pizza (regular dough, not GF) was really good according to my husband. We had a small salad and soft drink/tea (which were refilled promptly). The area (where we asked to be seated) seemed a bit noisy, but close to the door so we did not have to walk far. This seemed to be a family style area with lots of kids.We would eat there often if we lived in the area. For weary travelers, this was just the food we needed after a long day.

Went out on NYE day for lunch and had a wonderful lunch. Our server Lindsay was very kind and efficient. The soup and salad were excellent on a cold day. Will be back!

This is our go-to eatery when we are in the Lynchburg area. Over the last few years we have sampled many different pizzas and appetizers, occasionally have room for dessert. Recently we tried a sandwich. For the most part all are quite tasty with only one (recent) disappointment (Mac and Cheesy Pizza - too little Mac and Cheese and just not "there" on the flavor scale).We were at Waterstone three times the last two weekends and each time were disappointed in our service - slow and inattentive. Usually there is a line out the door with a wait for a table, not these times, twice we walked in and were seated right away. My family ate at Isabellaâs last weekend. We enjoyed the outdoor seating. We did call ahead, but there was not a wait. We each ordered a different dish from the large selections. The service was excellent. It is definitely medium price range. Nice for special occasions.There has been some amazing patio weather this past month and I'm glad you were able to enjoy it!
