Daintree Ecolodge

Set in the heart of the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest, the Daintree Ecolodge combines nature, nurture and culture in a pure rainforest environment. Believed to be over 180 million years old, and the oldest tropical lowland rainforest on Earth, the Daintree Rainforest is a rare and precious botanical treasure. Nestled amongst the foliage, the Daintree Ecolodge showcases 15 eco-friendly bayans (treehouses) immersed in the breathtaking rainforest canopy. Rise to the sound of the birds in the rainforest above, breathe-in the fresh tropical air and discover the lodge's private onsite waterfall on a leisurely stroll through the enchanting rainforest. The Daintree Ecolodge provides the perfect base to explore the treasures of the Daintree region; the only place in the world where two UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites meet (the Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef)! The Daintree Ecolodge is located 110 kilometres north of Cairns (90 minutes) and 45 kilometres north of Port Douglas (40 minutes) via sealed roads.

We had such a relaxing time at the Daintree eco lodge. What really made it for us was the kind and attentive staff and the amazing food from the restaurant. We enjoyed the degustation as well as multiple breakfast and dinners and the food was always perfect. Thanks for a relaxing and indulgent stay.

Very Peaceful, Walk to Village

Reviewed By Malcolm R

We were made very welcome and got good advice on local outings and places to visit. Our cabin was a good size for the two of us. Breakfast couldn’t be faulted and the Davidson Plum Jam on our toast was delightful. Only a short walk to the local pub and wharf for croc tours.

I want to sing out about ALL the wonderful aspects of this BnB, but I wont

Reviewed By DerekL9

One of the best BnB experiences I have ever experienced. The stay is absolutely unique in the area, offering the most spectacular views of the Daintree River and Mountains. Barry and Di are wonderful hosts, kind and considerate, and gave a wealth of information and conversation about the Daintree. I want to sing out about ALL the wonderful aspects of this BnB, but I wont, other than to say every detail to make a truly wonderful experience has been thought of and delivered by Barry and Di. So this review is really to say that many wonderful surprises will await you ! The property spaces are exceptional. Your senses will be overloaded, your tastbuds at breakfast, the sounds of the wildlife, the eye opening views and what you will see. Barry will help you with river cruises and rainforest visitations, so leave that to him. A tip - book 4 nights, so you can experience 3 full days of adventure in the area and time to relax and absorb this beautiful property. Passionately recommended. Derek and Paul, Melbourne

Amazing place beautiful surroundings and powered camp site.

Amazing little caravan park, peaceful and picturesque surroundings. Excellent boat ramp and jetty just meters away, plenty of fish and some sneaky big Barra among them. Good facilities, toilets, showers and laundry just meters away up the stairs from our powered site. Lovely friendly staff and the place is in a convenient location for a day trip on the Ferry up to Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation. Can’t rate this place highly enough, it’s family and pet friendly, the only problem we had was that we was that we had to go home, but we will definitely be back, lovely place, thank you so much ❤️?

I’m at your service

Reviewed By xozeditor

Host Gregg made our stay at Daintree Peaks one to remember. His mantra on arrival was “I’m at your service” and he delivered that with every meal we enjoyed in the airy dining area, which has spectacular views to Mt Thornton, rising over 1350 metres above the tropical forest. Delicious evening meals were cooked to order using as much produce grown locally as possible. The cottage was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and truly eco-friendly with all power, water and treatment being off grid. Highly recommended for anyone seeking solace in the Daintree forest.

Daintree Cascades Holiday Houses

Secret water hole and cascade in the Daintree.

Reviewed By FranWilliam

Pros: The cascades and pool are gorgeous and you have it all to yourself, we didn't even feel the need to check out the other local waterholes. Roundhouse kitchen is full sized and living area has plenty of room. Location is close to tropical icecream shop and other places of interest. Best tasting tap water I've ever had! Cons: No internet or phone signal (landline provided). No washer or dryer, I think there might be a laundromat nearby. A LOT of mosquitos (in a rainforest afterall) wear insect repellent tropical strength and use the mosquito coils provided. Lots of nature noises at night, wear ear plugs if needed. You can only use either the pool or cascades not both depending on which building you're in. Tips: If you have smaller kids the pool is more kid friendly which comes with the Cottage. In the round house you will need mosquito coils on whichever level you're sleeping on, the mozzies will feast on whoever does not have it. Definitely try Daintree Icecream Company we love, love their icecream.

Great room, quiet location

Reviewed By bdy18q

Donna and Gil are the perfect hosts. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They built Wild B&B twenty or so years ago incorporating a private zoo. Unfortunately Covid and the lack of tourists for two years has forced closure of the zoo apart from a couple of saltie crocodiles and a few birds. Our room in the aviary wing overlooked the zoo and apart from frog noises at night was quiet. The room was spacious and had a great shower. Breakfast was served each morning in the former cafe area. We had five nights there and I would happily stay again.

Secluded retreat with a private waterfall

Cassowary Falls Gateway Daintree is a beautiful and remote location set at the edge of the Daintree. It’s a beautiful spot to while away a few days watching the sun rise and set over the Daintree and an easy base for a trip to Cape Tribulation (a little over an hour’s drive including the ferry crossing). The chalet was equipped with luxuries like the spa tub, an electric bed, a large TV and a high-end BBQ, with lots of small thoughtful touches too. An absolute highlight was Andy taking us to Cassowarry Falls; a private waterfall that you’ll most likely have all to yourself, followed by an easy and beautiful walk back to the chalets.
