Stopped by Mode to grab a quick snack after a day of sight-seeing. The Staff was especially kind, tracking down a nut-free bread option to accommodate my allergies. We went specifically for the oysters and they did not disappoint! The accompanying drinks were also very tasty. Great place to stop while in Circular Quay

We enjoyed the "Stressless Sunday" 5 course degustation dinner at $79 / person on Father's Day.As always the dishes are interesting & diverse & not too filling.Their organic wholemeal sourdough bread with homemade Ricotta is a great start. The only disappointments were that there was no menu to explain what the 5 dishes were & that there are no Australian or New Zealand wines available by the glass.Grazie mille Richard! We are pleased you enjoyed the Stressless Sunday menu, as it's a great way to experience some past and present dishes at Ormeggio. The whole aim of the evening is that it is the chefs way of being creative and designing a menu quite à la minute, therefore, we do not provide a menu on this particular evening. The team did explain each dish to you on the evening as this is standard and a very important procedure. As we are an Italian restaurant we do mainly provide Italian wines, however, we do have a number of Australian wines by the bottle. We hope to see you again soon.

Quay Restaurant

The refurbished interior has a cool retro feel. More inviting than the stark white tableclothes of the past. The layout feels more intimate and more generous. The 10 course menu is a wonderful journey with each course holding its own space. The disappointment was the wine and the knowledge of the staff. The explanation of the set wines to accompany the set menu was - you start with white and move to red. Not what you would expect for $185 per head for the wine selection. The sommelier seemed more interested in being a waiter. Not a reason to not go and enjoy the experience but not what you would expect of Quay.

This was my birthday but if you are a tourist to Sydney this would be your quintessential dining experience. The service is excellent. Attentive and helpful. The food is magnificent. Key local produce presented superbly. I like fine dining and this is at its best. The wine list is excellent and the Sommelier is skilful. Exquisite Japanese subtleties and french flair are the promise and the promise is delivered in abundance. A simple suburban streetscape and decor may not adequately set the scene for the taste sensations that abound. Shared plates or bespoke dishes - your choice. We tried sublime octopus, mushrooms and eggplant for starters followed by gnocci (japanese? french?) and scampi - if we had not shared, it would have led to jealousy and food fights.

I cannot fault the quality of this restaurant’s seafood. The gin cured kingfish with fresh crab was delicious as was the Pink Snapper and the Trevalla. My husband also enjoyed his seared scallops immensely. The staff were fabulous. Very professional without being intrusive. Harbour views are always a bonus. The only issue is parking which is difficult as there really is only street parking. I would recommend catching the ferry or an Uber / taxi. There is however a single disabled parking spot across the road. Very happy to recommend and to return.

This restaurant was divine. I heard good things from friends so I wanted to give it a try with my partner. After tasting the lamb shoulder I will definitely be back! Friendly staff! Great atmosphere! Looking forward to trying some more dishes on the menu next time, maybe the Lamb Moussaka which my partner had or just having the delicious lamb shoulder again!

A night out in Sydney to a recommended place. Absolutely well worth the visit. The food was great and the service too. I'm not a great steak eater as it often disappoints, but very happy to report that the medium rare that the chef produced was superb... seems it is cooked on a wood grill... great. Coul;dn't fault all the fare.Thank you for taking the time to review us Trevor. We are delighted to hear that your enjoyed your dinner with us - especially since you were recommended to come here.
