La Villa Guy & Spa

The Villa Guy is an architectural and landscaped witness of the prestigious history of Béziers, a summer city with prosperous wine-making activities. It's between 1868 and 1870 that is built this vast house of Flemish style, for a Swiss couple, on plans of the architect Léopold Carlier. In 1916, the Guy brothers, important wine-making owners acquire this luxurious building nicknamed " the castle" by Beziers people, which will take then its definitive name of " Villa Guy ". The Villa Guy and his park of one hectare, a unique place in the city center of Béziers where you can discover works of Injalbert and Magrou, or another remarkable Spanish-Moorish set with a fountain. Why don't you relax in the swimming pool and in its shaded lounges, to appreciate the sweetness of this beautiful park

Gorgeous Villa highly recommended

Villa Guy is absolutely beautiful, it’s so lovely to stay in an old villa that has been restored and renovated to such a high standard. The gardens and pool are gorgeous too. The man working on the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Lastly the breakfast was served in a lovely dining room and was a 5 star experience.

This place is difficult to find, but clean with good breakfast....1 shared table...parking nearby. However, in our room the bathroom was quirky and small, the room was a good size but the beds were really not fitting for a room costing more than E60......old camp style beds with thin foam mattress.......not acceptable. Don't be too seduced about the historical pitch, the owners should really invest more for their client's comfort.

We spent a night here on both our journeys to and from Spain. Our car broke down on the outward journey. Nathalie (our hostess - French but speaks perfect English) helped us to get it jump started again - coming out into the bitterly cold weather, using her car.... We were extremely grateful! The accommodation is dog friendly. Walks along the canal are wonderful. Comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was superb. An additional bonus for wine lovers: they sell good quality wine!

Good location - poor facilities

Reviewed By trek50

We stayed 2 nights in June. The hosts are friendly as indicated in other reviews but we were not offered access to kitchen, fridge etc even when I asked for a glass of water. There were no glasses in the room for water during the night etc. On arrival there was an empty toilet roll holder and the air conditioning unit did not work despite the host trying to help out with this. We stayed in an attic room and the double bed is situated in the annex of the roof - we banged our heads several times on the roof beams trying to get in and out of bed. The tiny bathroom has no door and the toilet is situated at the end of the bed -so no privacy. The toilet is flushed by a noisy pump so we did not flush it during the night. There is no hand rail on the open plan stairway to the attic room. The bathroom cupboards are full of personal belongings as are the cupboards and drawers in the bedroom. There are personal photos all round the room including over the bed. It feels like you are staying at a relative's house where the teenage boy has given up his room for you. We were not aware of the cash only payment until we checked out - we were 2 euros short so we were delayed in departure when we had to find a bank. It would have been good to know in advance. I checked my booking confirmation and cash only was not mentioned in the important information or the fine print at time of booking or on arrival at the hotel. I see now that cash payment is mentioned on the hotel overview. We gave cash but were not offered a receipt for payment. The garden and pool area is lovely and so is breakfast on the terrace . private parking is also great.

The Most Amazing Place We Have Ever Stayed At!!! Perfect For Our Honeymoon!!

Reviewed By WorldVoyager

I really take a lot of time researching the perfect places to stay on any of the trips that I plan. When travelling through Europe, I always try to find something, beautiful, traditional and romantic. I was overjoyed to come across this beautiful place and immediately knew that we would need to stay here for a couple of days as we made our way from Andorra to Monaco. This beautiful old chateau is about 300 years old (with the vineyards and estate dating back to the XIXth century) and is surrounded by vineyards just on the outskirts of Beziers. They offer a handful of extremely well-appointed rooms that are filled with antiques and all kinds of nik-naks. Our amazing and very gracious host, Mr Jean Viennet, met us at the front door and welcomed us to his family estate. He is a famous artist, as his wife Christine, who was unfortunately away in Peru when we arrived. Their estate is filled with his paintings and Christine's amazingly detailed ceramic art. Jean gave us a tour inside and outside of his wonderful home and we saw the greenhouse and pool as well as the pond and so many different walking paths to explore. We had chosen the Yellow Deluxe Double Room With Garden View, it was so amazing - with a big bathroom and a deep tub and big gorgeous windows to let in the sun and the breeze. Jean even cooked us a wonderful dinner with the help of a young Polish girl named Monica, who was very friendly and always had a big smile on her face. Breakfast was also very nice and we spent a lot of time at the pool and wandering around the garden. We were sad to have to leave this place. We hope to return one day soon and to spend more time there! We can not recommend Chateau de Raissac enough!! Thanks so much to Jean and Monica for making our stay so delightful!!
