Reviewed By JBGuilletWe had a really nice stay. The property is well kept and the staff was friendly. It's central to wine tasting and other central coast activities. The dinner in their restaurant was good, although my filet was a bit overcooked for my taste. They replaced it without a fuss. Service was excellent and the location can't be beat.

Reviewed By zenhunter06We enjoyed hearing the sound of the ocean at night. The staff was great, helpful and friendly. We were very happy to find a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave tucked in closet corner. We will definitely stay there our next trip!

Reviewed By robin19651965This was a fantastic experience. Be sure to be there to see the sunset. Great location, very spacious rooms. Even had a fire. Extremely friendly staff. I would urge anyone to stay here, such a fantastic find, half way between Carmel and Santa Barbara

Reviewed By iammagsWe can't wait to go back! A great location right across the street from Moonstone Beach. And right next door to two wonderful restaurants (The Sea Chest and Madeline's) and a short walk to another (Moonstone Beach Bar and Grill). The staff here is wonderful, so nice and helpful A breakfast of either a burrito or a yogurt parfait is delivered to your room in the morning. There's coffee in the lobby and a machine in the room. We will definitely be back!

Filthy hotel with unattentive staff and inept/lazy hotel manager
Reviewed By X5554OBginamVERY filthy hotel and NOT worth the money. The staff is extremely unattentive to cleanliness of the hotel room #305 that we stayed in. When we arrived in our hotel room we found the smell in the room was so putrid we had to leave the door open to air out the room. The refrigerator wasn't working because someone had defrosted it, leaving a tray of stagnate water inside and never bothering to turn the refrigerator back on. The bedside clock was set for two hours earlier - not good of the hotel expects guests to check out on time. We had to have a maintenance person come to the room to deal with the refrigerator and the clock (because the clock had a locking feature on it). One of the curtains in our room was torn. There is no cleaning of the rooms during your stay (and clearly not before your stay either), so be prepared to bring your own cleaning supplies from home. The shower floor was disgusting and the carpet was so filthy the bottoms of my white socks were brown from walking on the carpet. The cherry on this scummy hotel was finding a dead mouse outside our hotel room when we were loading our car to leave. We told all of this the hotel manager when we checked out, and he told us he was aware of the maintenance issues we experienced when we arrived. The hotel manager could have cared less. We paid over $400/night including taxes to stay at this dirty, rodent-ridden hotel. Definitely NOT worth it.

Delightful Stay!

The lady in the office was so lovely., although our room was not ready upon arrival, when we were able to get in the room, it was by far the most fantastic location we've had on Moonstone Beach. We specifically looked for a property that did not allow dogs, and this was a wonderfully quiet stay with waves crashing right outside the door. There was also a patio outside which was perfect. The only negatives were that 1) there was no microwave in the room which limited our choices in take-out. Especially during Covid we like to pick up a meal and bring it back to the room and this often means warming up all or part of it. And I like to warm my morning muffin! Also the barn door on the bathroom didn't have a lock. I am in the habit of locking the bathroom door as I feel better that way, don't ask me why! Overall, the serenity, cleanliness, and comfort of the room was great. And an in-room coffee maker....a win!

Lovely coastal retreat
Reviewed By alicet868We stayed at the Pelican Inn Cambria. The deluxe double Queen ocean view room was wonderful with great ocean views. The room was well appointed. The sitting area with the fireplace and deck were all superb. Beds were very comfortable. The grounds with the succulents are lovely. Hot tub area could use some sprucing up. Otherwise a very restful stay in a well appointed Inn.

Reviewed By rhqb2ksmixit is overpriced place with poor service, rooms smells so bad, and you are getting different service related the rooms you booked. Good thing is just location it is on the beach, but everybody can access to place, not sure if it is worth to pay so much. Defiantly not going there again.
