Room Cleaning issues

Reviewed By TucsonTraveller2

Stayed one night. Upon arrival, tried to check in however room key card reader was out of order and had to be escorted to room. Room was nice and looked clean. When I went to take a shower there was a used bar of soap in the soap dish making me question the cleaning procedures of this hotel. I did mention this at checkout and the front desk said they would pass on issue. Breakfast was good, eggs, sausage, potatoes, tortillas, waffles and such.

Needs a lot of TLC

Reviewed By thegeese

We chose this property because of price and availability -- we made the reservation just a day or so before the trip. The hotel is quite old, but has been reasonably well maintained. Our room had some problems, however. The carpet was quite dirty and needed cleaning. I wouldn't say the carpet need replacing -- just a good cleaning. The toilet had a slow leak into the bowl which had obviously been ignored for a very long time and there was a nasty heavy streak of rusty crud running down the back of the bowl. The bathtub was clean, but it was one of those plastic overlay things, and it seems to have discolored with age. It was kind of a uniform yellowish color. The maid service was also poor. Just before sunset, we finally called down and asked if they were going to clean the room. They sent up a lady to clean and straighten the place and she did a fine job. If we had not mentioned this, the room would have gone uncleaned. Breakfast is included, but sort of as a remnant of the pandemic (I guess) it was just a brown bag containing a juice box and two junk food pastries. (That really isn't substantially worse than most "included" breakfasts). I don't know if this accommodation is worth the relatively low rate. I don't think we will likely stay here again.

Disgusting & Dangerous. Do NOT stay here,

Reviewed By JDWorldTravels

I am perplexed by the good reviews on this place. It is HORRIBLE. I'm a solo female traveler, passing through beautiful NM on a cross country road trip. On a Monday night in July, I checked in "after hours" which requires the guest to ring a bell at the drive through window. (There is no access into the hotel lobby). I rang the bell and waited outside, standing in the drive-thru. My car was parked about 40 feet away in a parking spot. As I rang the bell, 2 men in a pick up truck pulled into the drivethru, right behind me, which already felt too close for comfort. They were not giving me a lot of personal space which raised a red flag. As the hotel employee collected my information the driver of the truck said to the passengaer, "I will get you a room here to get you off the street for the night. Just don't steal anything." This comment made me incredibly weary of my surroundings. It just didn't feel right. The hotel employee finished my check in and gave me my card to my room. As I turned to go to my room, the truck driver stepped closer towards me and started to verbally harrass me. He was aggressivley saying "hey you!" and "What's your name!" "Come here" over and over. I am used to traveling alone and being approached by men, but this scenarios felt more dangerous than usual. I was so scared that I did not want him to see what room I was staying in. I got in my car and he watched me drive away, then I waited for 20 minutes in a parking lot down the street before I returned. At this point it was 10pm and I was exhausted from driving 12 hours that day. I just wanted to go to bed. Upon returning to the motel, I did not see the truck, so I went inside my room. There was a group of creepy men in the parking lot outside my room doing, what seemed to be, "suspicious activity," let's just say, Another red flag. When entering my room, another very shady & suspicious man was standing outside his door, at the room right next to mine, looking to be up to no good. He watched me go into my room alone and it left me another very creepy feeling. At that point, my instincts told me to leave. The room was dingy, smelly and filled with stains on the walls and bed. I didn't even want to sit on a chair. When I tried to close my room door behind me, it barely closed. The top part of the door was so bent, I could almost see daylisght through it. The lock was also very questionable and did not close securely. That was the final straw. Within 10 minutes of being in the room, I absolutely felt that my safety was in jeopardy. There was no way I was going to sleep there. I went back to check in desk and rang the bell. The motel employee admitted that he heard the guy harrassing me. I told him that he should understand that my safety is a big concern and he really did NOT care too much about that. I immediately checked out and asked for a refund. He would NOT issue a refund. I booked another room at the Ramada down the street and felt much better about that place. No one should ever feel like their safety is in jeopardy when all they want to do is lay their head to rest for a night. If health and safety are a concern of yours when traveling, go elsewhere. This place is very shady.

After driving 14 hours we were ready to stop. It was late at night, tried to book on-line via cell phone, no luck. Called direct they would not match price. Finally thought we've spent too much time and effort trying to save a few bucks and just drove in. They had a room, it was small and dirty, blood? stain on one bedspread, AC was marginal (really need it in NM), breakfast was in a room that was coverted from a room, they would not allow any food out of that room (owner wife said it becasue of COVID), want to take your coffee to room - NO WAY, grab a cellophane -wrapped donut and take it to room? Nope. Tried to use computer in lobby "business center' was told that the network cable was stolen just that day, when pressed they said it be replaced bright and early in the morning - NOPE. Room tile was dirty with litter (not swept), headboards looked like a cat scratched it up, but I think there was another cause. Did not try refrigerator, tv or microwave - guessing from what they looked like hit or miss if they worked. We spent a total of 7 hours stopped and went to IHOP grabbed breakfast and hit I-10 westbound for CA. Walking out to the car the parking lot had puddles of different colored vomit on it - someone was partying. Sleeping in your car is a better choice.

It was an okay stay for passing through

I arrived late and thankfully they had availability. The area isn't the best area but I wasn't there to sightsee, just needed a place to sleep for a few hours while I drove across the country taking pictures. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. It had a mini fridge and microwave. A couple of complaints: The bathroom window didn't assure of me of safety (picture enclosed) It is in a drastic need of an upgrade. The tub had no way to hold the water in so trying to take a hot bath after a long drive wasn't easy. The A/C was covered up when I first got there. I'm not sure what that was about but I uncovered it and turned it on. It sounded like it was on its last leg and about to die any moment. The noise was extremely loud but at that point I was too exhausted to keep me awake. It was a non expensive quick stay until I continued on to my next journey. If I were to stay longer than a few hours I would have probably complained about the A/C.
