Occasional visits. Food has become mediocre, and extremely slow/poor service.Tonight's order will be my last.I took my bistec tacos home and my first bite contained a METAL PIECE OF WIRE THAT PUNCTURED MY GUM. Unacceptable to say the least. At first, I thought it was a staple or needle, but I've come to determine that it was a metal bristle from a cleaning brush, probably used to clean the stop top or grill. Though the experience of this was painful and shocked that it could've been worse, rather than waste my time with legal actions, it warranted a hasty review on every review site I can find online. My first call to speak to a manager ended up with a woman who couldn't speak English, trying to tell me there was no manager and no name to give. Then I was told by another lady the Manager's name is "Abellos" and that he wasn't around. Don't risk injuring yourself. Go to Bar Taco or even try Hubba's (Hubba Hubba) in Port Chester.

The service was good, but would have been much better if I spoke Spanish. The food was good, filling and exactly as described. One side note, the music that was pleasantly in the back ground was all classic rock, but versions, by the original recording artist, that I had never heard before. I was very surprised and more then a little pleased. Tip, bring change for the meter or park in the nearby public free parking lot

this is a fantastic addition to the area's dining choices. i believe it is a husband and wife team from peru and mexico - they have created an authentic local restaurant that is casual but classy, with a two-sided menu - mexican and peruvian. the selection is enormous and the well-qualified, friendly server was very patient explaining the various dishes we had interest in (my wife, me and a another couple.we made reservations for a friday night at 7:00 and they had a reserved sign on a table at the window - very nice. we were a bit concerned because by 7:30 only two other tables were filled. however, by 8:00 all the tables were full. they do not recommend reservations but i urge you to make them. a nice mix of nationalities dining - many hispanics which was very assuring. families and couples. appeared that everyone was having a good time and enjoying the food.warning - huge portions. see the pics. they do not have a liquor or beer licence yet and we were told we could not bring our own. but they have various soft drinks. the prices are from the 1980"s and we hope they cover their costs and make a nice profit. my belief is that they could easily raise their prices 15% and the value would still be there and customers would find the food affordable and not complain.we started with nachos (see the pic) a mountain covered with heart-stopping (literally) goodies. the serving, which i think was around $10 - could easily serve four as an app. we also had calamari (see pic) which was prepared well and included yuka which was good but a bit heavy for my taste. the table has three hot to very hot sauces that require caution if you are not used to hot sauce.i had one of several salmon (see pic) selections - tequila blended cream sauce and three large shrimp - huge piece of delicate and delicious salmon on a mound of rice. next time i would ask them for less sauce - my taste. came with a huge plate of fresh veggies (see pic). the three others had steak and shrimp fajitas which were large portions and delicious (see pics). i think each dish was about $18. very reasonable.the complimentary chips and salsa are made in the kitchen - very good. the salsa was a different style than i am used to but good.as a side-note. the server in this little mom and pop restaurant uses an ipad or tablet device to take orders - my guess is the orders then immediately appear in the kitchen. additionally, they swipe your credit or debit card on the device and you then designate the tip (please be very generous) then sign with your fingertip. you may have a receipt sent to your email. very cool feature.once again, the server and the service were friendly and helpful. water glasses were constantly filled and additional chips and salsa were requested and delivered at no extra charge. there must be close to a hundred total selections which is a challenge so take your time and look the menu over - both sides.i encourage everyone who likes this style of food to try this lovely local restaurant. not a big chain. it is open 7 days a week from 9:00am to i beleive 9:00pm. these are friendly, local, hard-working people who work incredibly long and hard hours and truly deserve to be a huge success - please help them be a success. enjoy your meal, white them up, tell other - and leave a very generous tip for the hard working staff.FYI - i have no relationship with the owners or the restaurant.sam marcusthank you for your feedback and all your kind words, looking forward to serving you again.

Coyote Flaco

This is a funky place in Port Chester where I moved to. On my quest for the best Guacamole I stumbled into Coyote Flaco. There is parking in the back and on the street. They are closed on Mondays. This is a house converted into a small restaurant on the first floor. The family who runs the restaurant live upstairs. There is no bar to sit at which was a drawback for me because I travel alone. Small tables in two small rooms, but there is an area you can sit outside when the weather is good. The food is very good, drinks strong and service friendly and humble. I stop in regularly. But, it's not the type of place to sit and hang out for a long time. Lots of families with kids come in regularly. But, if you are looking for a quick fix of some good Mexican good, this would be a great place to try.

It's a good indication of a restaurant's popularity when it expands into the space next door. I was afraid that expansion would dilute the GREAT food and service I've come to expect, but the place has gotten even better. We went for a late dinner a few nights ago, and were greeted personally by one of the owners. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and the entire staff was efficient. The restaurant is spotless, and the open kitchen means there are no secrets. The food was, as usual, amazing. This is definitely one of our favorite places to eat.

We were a party of 5 celebrating my mom’s birthday. It took over 20 minutes for us to get our drinks including our water. Ask for sparkling water were told they ran out of Pellegrino “Ok” minutes later I see them pouring some on the table next to us. Food is was great. Everybody loved what they order. Meat was cooked to perfection. My daughter asked for a side of Plantains not only it came when it was time to order dessert but at the bottom of the little basket was a fried calamari. Thank God she has no shellfish allergies. They should be more careful. The waiter was MIA the whole time and not very friendly or attentive at all. It was just horrible service. Actually the buss boy took better care of us. The only reason they getting 2 stars is for how delicious the food was.
