Lisa's has become our go-to restaurant in the two years I've lived in Daly City. Maria, the longtime chef, makes all kinds of basic Anglo-Mexican fare, and it's all delicious, but you really ought to try the fajitas when you come here.The owners, Guillermo (Jose) and Mario, are wonderful guys, full of fun and there to make you happy. Ana, their server/busperson, has also been there for ages, and she is as sweet a woman as you could ever hope to meet.If you come in on a Friday you are likely to be greeted by Sharon playing her harp. It is a unique and cheerful place to bring friends for a nice meal and a few beers while you examine the acres of Latin kitsch that adorn every square inch of the restaurant.

Fantastic, authentic Mexican food. Went there two or three times in my 2nd week of travel to Daly City, because I didn't know about it the first week.Just catty-corner to the In 'n' Out Burger, whose drive through line is always inexplicably into Sullivan street and around the corner -- this place beats the heck out if it!Had two excellent Carnitas/Spicy tacos - both soft and crispy - and enjoyed each pair thoroughly. I think I preferred the crispy for the added texture.Also had a carnitas burrito (regular) which was very good and satisfying. Three for three! Inexpensive, too.Highly recommended if you're in the neighborhood, or are at the Hampton Inn about 5 blocks north.

This is a good choice for tasty Salvadoran food in a casual busy storefront setting. Service is pleasant and well-meaning, but a somewhat slow; just relax and enjoy the chips and delicious salsa while waiting for your meal. The green salad with avocado and tomatoes was a success, featuring an excellent Thousand Island dressing (helpfully offered on the side). Wonderful shrimp dishes are served in various sauces including buttery/garlic which was terrific. The specialty of the house is the pupusa â a pancake-shaped thick cornmeal pastry filled with cheese, chicken or pork and served with cirtrus-seasoned slaw. Scrumptious and filling. The beer selection was fair, but the red wine by the glass was surprisingly good. Prices are low. A great value and highly recommended.

Muy Excelente! Super Carnitas Burrito was just so very delicious. Served with a HUGE side of great tortilla chips, and complemented by a set of fresh salsa that was terrific as well, this place is an instant favorite.Very clean and with friendly super-duper fast service (I got my burrito just about when I sat down from getting the salsas!) the huge burrito was loaded with flavor and wonderful textures.BTW: for the gringos or ABCs like me, the other reviews mention a "pastor" taco or other of their menu with "pastor". You won't find the word on the menu--look for BBQ Pork and that will help you out.

chevy's parent company went through bankruptcy a few months ago so the restaurants are changing. I've eaten here many times so kind of know what they have. Had the 5 item combo (substituting enchilada for the tamale). Prices are a little higher than last year, food is about the same. They started charging the "health tax" as have other restaurants in bay area. At least it is only 3 % but I still think I shouldn't be paying this in this manner. But this seems to be a trend now.

Real Mexican eatery and store with all Mexican products you can imagine. Crowded, dark, with lack of interior design, looks like unfriendly space. But who cares? The food is awesome and authentic, portions are huge and cheap. I don't need nothing more. My Torta de Milanesa with breaded steak was one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Mandatory place for Mexican food enthusiasts.

This restaurant has been open forever ~ and somehow they just don't understand the part about the food needing to taste good. The portions are small, especially for Mexican food, and the food is terrible. We placed an order to go ~ arrived at 6:00 to pick it up ~ and the restaurant was completely empty. The server that waited on us was kind but that is not enough to spend $18 on a 2 item plate with tortillas.

I have been going to Celia's Restaurants since 1987. I LOVE Celia's. This one is just OK and does not measure up to the others. No peppers in the Carnitas Adobados, refused to make flour chips, waiter not overly excited to please. ALL other Celia's make flour chips upon request. No cole slaw and Celia's is famous for it as it is the best cole slaw ever. Not so at this Celia's. Years ago this site was an El Torito. I say bring back the El Torito. However the Margarita was excellent.
