Hidden Gem

Reviewed By Weeeeeee

What a great “Hidden Gem”! First, it’s (obviously) in the first town when you go over the Sagamore bridge and right in Route 6A. The check in process was easy as could be, super friendly staff. Our objective was to ride some of the great CC rail trails. The location is really quiet and close to the Cape Cod Canal rail trail. The king room in the back was very clean. I really liked the laminate floors, no nasty rugs harboring who know what. The bed was super comfortable. The furniture is beachy and looked fairly new. There was a mini fridge and mini microwave on top of it. A coat rack with hangers and hooks. The bathroom was very clean, no odors, great water pressure. Although I didn’t partake of it, they offer breakfast and it looked like people were enjoying it. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to go again.

Nice room, but…..

Reviewed By Janice R

The room was very nice and very clean. The grounds need some TLC, removal of dead tree branches and a good prune. The owner was not very welcoming, there was no rapport at all. The notices inside the rooms were rather unpleasant and even threatening that should the room even smell of smoke after departure then there would be a substantial amount deducted from your credit card. It takes the shine off a bit.

Clean and spacious

Reviewed By pippenAugusta

Very welcoming and easily assessable from 6A. Perfect in every way for my needs and Tracy goes out of her way to make sure guests are happy during their visit. Most hotels on the Cape struggle with a musty smell but this hotel has gone the extra mile to ventilate the rooms. This will be my go to spot whenever I return to the Cape.

Expensive, but quite disappointing.....

Reviewed By Walter R

We had dinner at the Belfry last week. It has long been a favorite of ours, especially for special occasions. It is expensive, but the service and food have made the cost worthwhile. Until last week. We had a visitor from Washington D.C., and we booked a table because we wanted her to have a special experience. We were all disappointed. The server was excellent. But the food was a let-down. The appetizers were quite good: My wife's crab and avocado, my butter lettuce salad, and our friend's raw oysters. But the entrees were a disaster. My wife had the scallops. They were pale and overcooked, and not seared. The crab cake and shrimp dish was awful: The crab cake was mushy, and the shrimp so overcooked that our guest did not eat them. I had the short ribs. They were lean, but tasteless. On the whole, it was a let-down. Our waitress asked how the meal was. We said "okay,'' so she knew. When the bill came, it contained charges for a glass of Chardonnay and a glass of Proseco, which we had not ordered. As you might imagine, dinner was a downer, and we were embarrassed because we had raved about the Belfry to our friend. We all need to give our restaurants the benefit of the doubt, given the unimaginable challenges they face. So I backed off, and sent a private email to the manager. I did not hear back. Maybe he'll read it here.
