In 2019 we (Jan and Nina) bought Cortijo la Fe and after 6 months of total renovation, we opened our bed and breakfast in July 2020. Cortijo la Fe is a place in Montefrio where silence and quietness invites you to relax. Dazzling and peaceful landscapes are mixed with architectural beauty. Cortijo la Fe is situated 8 km from Montefrio, in the middle of olive groves and offers fantastic views. Our theme is relaxation, and to offer our guests space, privacy and personal attendance. The property has been renovated recently, keeping it’s rustic atmosphere, but at the same time being updated to a modern standard. The property consists of 8 acres, garden, several places outside to enjoy and relax, swimming pool with magnificent views, a chapel and a Hammam. Cortijo la Fe has 6 double rooms with en-suite bathrooms. There are 2 Classic- and 4 Superior rooms. All offer amazing views over the olive groves. One of the Superior room offers 2 bedrooms. We also offer our guests ecologically grown vegetables and fruits from our private garden. There is also a honesty bar in the dining room so our guests can refresh themselves at any time of the day. Due to the rural character of the buildings, the leveled exterior and the surroundings are not very well considered for all mobility-impaired guests. We accept children from the age of 12. Younger children may only be accepted in specific rooms and by PRIOR AGREEMENT only. We do not offer children discounts. Pets are not allowed. We do not have any television set at the Cortijo la Fe, as we want our guests to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and to get time off from the normal working days and stress. Free services: breakfast, freeparking, free wifi, travel advice, pool towels, outdoor terraces and multipurpose room.

Reviewed By Hans LThis has been our third visit to La Fe and the first time since Nina and Jan are running it. What a great place it has become. Nothing bad about the previous owners Dominique and Richard, but Nina and and Jan have taken the Cortijo to a next level. Rooms have been upgraded, the dining room is picture perfect and the terraces are inviting. The crispy white walls make it as Andalusian as it gets. If you are warm and tired of the lovely towns and cities closely such as Granda! this is the place to unwind amongst the olive groves. But better watch out for Nina’s cooking skills, weight watching required. We will be back.

Reviewed By Heather KWe had a fantastic room, new, beautifully decorated, the furniture is of exceptionally high quality, warm, lovely linen and towels, double glazing and blinds as well as curtains. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was a walk-in, and powerful. We stayed for 3 nights and the room was cleaned each morning. With fresh towels and soap etc..The apartments are right in the middle of the town an excellent position.

B&B Lasnavillasmm is situated outside Montefrio in the olive fields. Montefrio is a beautiful white village between Granada and Cordoba. Your welcome to enjoy the sun, the peace and tranquility or have fun on the walking roads or rent a bike.

Reviewed By Rick-DebbieWe stayed two nights as part of an Andalucian bicycle trip. This rural, converted butcher's home/packinghouse first charmed us with its wonderful patio and mountain views. Our room--the former sausage production room--was quaint, spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. Marc and Mady, our hosts, went to great lengths to care for us during our stay: beers on the patio; wonderful dinners (extra charge for this); rides into town (about 5 KM)....even a little helpful bicycle maintenance! This B&B is surrounded by olive plantations, lots of space, and great beauty. We would readily stay there again!

La Casa del Agua is a flour mill of the year 1736 rehabilitated and restored between the year 2007 and 2008, trying to support the Andalusian aesthetics and respecting in everything possible the original construction, to offer four apartments and an independent room with bath, as tourist housing of rural housing. In the West one of Granada, the known as the last border Nazari, one finds Montefrio's municipality, where our senses will be able to enjoy a rural captivation mixed with wonderful conference, with puddles, natural waterfalls and monuments bequeathed the step of cultures and civilizations throughout the centuries. (To see isolated environment). The house of the water is in full nature to 6,5 Km from Montefrio (3,5 Km from track of land without asfaltar), which turns her into an absolutely natural place, full of tranquility and surrounded with silent fields of oaks, olive trees and pines, and during the night, cutlery of a spectacularly starry sky. The estate borders on the Creek of the Mills, which after his to wind, is leaving waterfalls and natural puddles that are fused by the landscape for delight of the wayfarer. Also we have ecological Garden (season) in order that enjoyments of products 100% natural on every station. Definitively, an incomparable place loaded with peace and with energy to enjoy the nature all the senses.
Important points to note
Reviewed By biztraveler20We stayed at La Casa del Agua earlier this year and booked through Airb&b. First of all, I'll say that Eva and her partner are lovely. They offered to meet us at a late hour in the village, and we were running very late by the time of arrival. We didn't see much of them after the arrival, but we did see their adorable dog a lot. Poncho is his name, if I remember correctly. Anyhow, as far as the place itself, the listing on Airb&b (and I believe on other sites) is misleading. I'll explain more in a minute. Also, with every interaction we had with the host, the price kept going up. We ended up paying 225E for a small apartment for three nights. This is an extremely rural area and we were visiting during the off season - that combined with the fact that the apartment is small and rustic made us feel like the price was quite high. Also, many of the listings have pictures and give bedroom and guest numbers that make it seem like you're renting the entire house. This is definitely not the case, so just review carefully before you book and make sure you don't mind being surrounded by other guests since the apartments are clustered together. The last thing I'll add is that the apartment smelled like mothballs when the hosts first opened the door but also throughout our stay. After our three nights at Casa del Agua, my luggage smelled like moth balls for a good week. Oh, and wifi is very poor in case that's an important factor in your search.

Reviewed By Reijo GThe hotel is situated approximately 600 m from the village center, Plaza de Espana. It's a nice little hotel, a bit outdated, but stylishly so. You can't expect much english here, but all the essential matters came clear anyway. We had a good, clean and spacy room. The breakfast was minimalistic. A good choice in Montefrio.

A hilltop home
Reviewed By NC-Traveler-47Miguel Angel has done a superb job restoring this small inn, situated perfectly in a historic neighborhood at the base of the castle in Montefrio. Our room was tasteful and simple and had beautiful light. Our private balcony overlooked the whole town; the view was almost overwhelming. There were several shared terraces, all with splendid views, that encouraged slow afternoons of reading, eating, and conversation. There was a shared kitchen too. Best of all was Miguel Angel himself: a smart, worldly, gentle host who was eager to make his guests comfortable but not intrusive. Because the house is up a hill, it's best suited for those without serious mobility issues.

Our country house outside Montefrio offers two beautifully decorated rural apartments with views over the mountains and olive groves. Guest can enjoy a seasonal shared swimming pool, yoga treatments and massages on site. Both apartments have private living rooms with kitchens and private outdoor space. Ideal for hiking and mountain biking.

Reviewed By DansieWe had the good fortune to stay at Cortijo Berruguilla for two nights on a recent bike trip to the area. Robert and Sabina’s hospitality was second to none. Sabina was very kind and communication was good. As we were on bikes, Robert took us to town for groceries and also gave us a lift to town the day we left. We BBQ’d by the pool with Robert and Bobby the dog – it was a great evening! The entire apartment is beautiful, clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. The kitchen is very well equipped. The wooden furnishings are stylish and add to the warmth and feel of the apartment. We enjoyed a swim, relaxing by the pool and a short hike up a nearby trail with lovely views. Breakfast on the terrace was a great way to start the day. Although it’s a hilly area, accommodation may be made if you are biking and this is an ideal quiet country location if you are driving. We highly recommend Cortiji Berruguilla!
