Mount Joy's name is derived from the sailing ship that carried the original settlers over the Atlantic: a replica of which is mounted along Main Street in the heart of the town today. Although our hotel has a Manheim address, the town of Manheim is about 5 miles away, with the Mount Joy town line situated just across the street from the hotel. Enjoy easy access to attractions like Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Hershey's Chocolate World and The Sight & Sound Millennium Theatre. Reviewed By Cheryl CWe were three friends travelling together for a special occasion. Our 'Suite' was so small we all felt claustrophobic. I had never rented a suite so small. All 3 of us couldn't even sit at the table together. The TV was useless because there was no updated information to tell us which channel corresponded to which network. The card they gave us with this information was all wrong. The front desk told me there was a QR code but none of us had a QR reader on our phones. Besides there was no information in the room, no pamphlet or notebook with a QR code on it to read. When we called in the evening for clean towels and they hadn't arrived 20 minutes later I went to the front desk and was told the person who would bring them was busy making coffee. They had been making coffee for 20 minutes and were still working on it? There was no fan in the bathroom that we could see or turn on or it was broken so when we showered it was like a sauna and suffocating in there. Breakfast was ok and the attendant kept things clean.

Reviewed By hammonlThis facility was very clean throughout - public areas, hallways, rooms, breakfast area. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful also. My room was spacious with comfortable furnishings. My room looked out on the back which was an open field. Very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast included hot choices - eggs and a breakfast meat - waffles, fruit, other items. I highly recommend this lodging and would gladly return.

Reviewed By andreafJ6007NMOk, hotel was definitely more than I expected because my husband booked the rooM. From the outside you are kind of skeptical. It basically looks like a warehouse . Signs were available to point you in the right direction . Upon entry front desk was VERY helpful and friendly . We were only staying there for sight and sound trip but ended up Utilizing our spare time to enjoy the hotel . We were gifted with $10 in arcade room for the kids . The hotel is MASSIVE ! Everything a sports fanatic would love is available in this space . Had I known this I would’ve packed sneakers and shorts lol . Kids had a great time and didn’t want to leave . I personally didn’t sleep well because the bed was too hard for me but the kids slept like babies on the pullout couch . One flaw we forgot to tell the front desk , in the morning a child used their key to enter our room .

Good but no real breakfast
Reviewed By 302carterjNice staff and decent hotel room. Only complaint was that the breakfast was only open when the hotel was maxed out. The first day my family was there, a church group was at the hotel and the breakfast was open. All the other days when there was less than max people we were given breakfast bags. Other than the skimpy breakfasts I liked the hotel.

We arrived late to the hotel and when my friends and I entered we were asked by the attendant how we got in as if we were thieves. It was late so we let it go by. Following his extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism, he told us where our room was located. Unfortunately the room key did not work and we went back to the desk to let him know. He was super annoyed that we bothered him as he was talking on his cell phone which was pinned under his shirt on his shoulder wearing as he's wearing flip flops. He schleps back to the door and tells us we don't know how to open the door,as if we were the biggest buffoons on the planet. Again condescending verbiage continues. He then tells us the door is jammed and sending us to another room. We paid for a suite with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. This room we are now confined to no longer has the services we purchased. The next day, we see the "manager" which we did not know at the time she was and she would only greet the white boaders and completely ignored anyone of color. We tell the new attendant about our situation and the manager refused to speak to us. And refused to compensate the situation in any way. We asked to be checked out and again were denied of this as well. And their breakfast is a complete joke, stale mini-muffins and tangerines. And the place smelled awful. Outside it smelled like dead rats decomposing. I would not recommend this place, because that's what it is, not a hotel, to my worst enemy. Stay away!!!!

Lovely couples getaway
Reviewed By Tara SWe had Valentines Day plans Saturday in the Manheim area and came across this beautiful B&B and decided to make a whole weekend of it. Todd & Laureen were excellent hosts! The place is immaculate, very clean and cozy. Todd is an excellent chef! Both of them are very friendly and personable. They made us feel right at “home”! We will definitely be back!

Greedy, Slimy, Rude Owner
Reviewed By OuidlebeesNEVER STAY HERE. I made a pay-when-you-get-there reservation for one night, ten days prior to my arrival. At 8pm, after a very long day, I tried to check in. The owner was horrible and rude, and claimed my reservation had been canceled earlier because my card was declined. I explained there must be a mistake, my card is fine (NEVER anywhere near limit and I had used it just an hour before), and my card should not have been run yet anyway as I had just arrived! Then he tried to blame Expedia. I told him that I would call Expedia, at which point he made another rude comment and turned around and walked into a back office, never to return. After speaking with three people at Expedia, my suspicions about what really happened were confirmed - it was a busy Ren Faire weekend, all the hotels in the area were booked, and this slimy, greedy, low-life gave my reservation away to a walk-in who was willing to pay more money for any "available" room, made it seem my card was rejected by running an incorrect number in order to get rid of my reservation, and then blamed Expedia. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing. Apparently this is an ongoing issue with this disgusting motel, so Expedia was able to give me a coupon for my trouble (I had to end up driving three more hours home), and they escalated the issue to potentially end their partnership with the motel as apparently I am not the only one complaining. Stay literally anywhere else! The place looks shady and gross and unclean anyway.

Reviewed By Inspire9161980I booked this hotel 2 months in advance for August 7-August 8, 2021. They emailed me a week prior to my stay to welcome me. My family drove by the hotel 3 days prior to my stay (since I live 4 hours away) and the hotel had caution tape all around it and was shutdown. You couldn't even get into the parking lot! I canceled the hotel and struggled to find a new hotel on such short notice! Now, I cannot get a refund! AND they're still taking reservations. SCUMBAGS!
