Another lovely stay

Reviewed By Hilary A

This was our second stay in this lovely hotel. Excellent, helpful staff member on reception when we arrived. We had a gorgeous lunch on the Sunday of our arrival. Breakfast was amazing, as always in the Hospederias. Our room was clean and spacious. There are plenty of things to do in the area and Jerte makes a good base for touring around.

Great location

Reviewed By Jac T

We went for the best room for 2 they had and I think it was worth the extra month for 2 nights, although we did have to put our own sheets on the bed which were all just left out with the towels. We had a jacuzzi in our room, plenty of space and a well equipped kitchen. The best thing about this hotel is the location however. It's just over the road into the national park and on to the hiking trails to Garganta de los infiernos. We will probably come back to stay here again because it's just so easy, and I think we would definitely go for the more expensive room again.

Nonprofessional communication about COVID measures/access to facilities: only 2 hours of swimming allowed!

Reviewed By 794stijnv

The accommodation of the establishment was ‘ok’, although the furniture is a bit old and not really comfortable, such as the sofa and the seats (indoor and outdoor). However, the biggest disappointment is the nonprofessional communication about the COVID measures taken, namely, guests are only allowed to the swimming pool area for 2 hours per day. This was not communicated towards us beforehand, although we had booked the apartment two days in advance by the end of July. In other words, the owner had more than time enough in order to notify us about this. Furthermore, this measure was/is also not mentioned on the website nor by means of the booking confirmation. Therefore we believe that we were lured under false pretences, since we paid the full price for the apartment while not having access to all the foreseen and promised facilities such as the swimming pool during the whole day. We want to make clear however that we do not question the measure itself, but the communication about it! On top of that, we could only enter the swimming pool area during very inconvenient hours: from 12h till 13h and from 18h till 19h. When we tried to change those hours due to the inconvenience related to our day schedule, the owner pedantically replied that ‘this was not her problem’. On our penultimate day, the owner changed her mind, saying that we might change these hours, but that general access is forbidden for all the guests between 13h and 16h and after 19h, because only her family and friends are allowed to use the swimming pool during these periods. She emphasized that she had taken such measures for the guests, because she did not want to have too many guests around the swimming pool because of COVID. We would argue this is a hypocrite argument, since her family member/friends were with more than 10 people around the swimming pool on one evening at 21h. To conclude, if you consider booking this accommodation, we would advise you to inform about whether you have access to all the facilities (especially the swimming pool), since this is not communicated transparently to the guests beforehand.

Third visit to Los Arenales and Ole Ole is by far and away the best bar in town, we discovered the place last summer and couldn't have been made more welcome by proprietor Oscar (sound guy) and his lovely wife. Choice of bottled beers, spirits and cocktails is excellent, measures extremely generous and atmosphere superb, looking forward to going back next year!

Incongruente

Reviewed By LeriaBA
