Reviewed By ftlauderdalenativeStayed 1 night on road trip. Though it’s a 19 mile drive to Bar Harbor, it’s not a bad drive. we were Pleasantly surprised with this Hampton. Great customer service. The breakfast was very well stocked & had a lot of variety. Clean rooms - easy ck in & ck out.

Reviewed By Josee LNice staff, our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Free breakfast included, no eggs or bacon on the menu. The hallway to the pool was very cold but the pool was nice and well maintained. Great central location.

Reviewed By furnaceguyNeeded a dog friendly place for a night and this place was perfect in every aspect . Wade greeted me at check in and so did GingerSnap the resident pup in charge . I can not stress enough how kind pleasant and friendly Wade was . The place was immaculate and i mean everywhere. My room (200) was practically new . I had coffee and some fruit for breakfast (complimentary) . I highly recommend this place and will absolutely return. Wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday season . See you soon !!

The Sanctuary Inn and Art Gallery, opened for business in August 2016, is a recently renovated inn / bed & breakfast / boutique hotel. Most rooms provide a fridge, microwave, Cable TV, free WiFi, writing desk, one bed, a private bathroom, and a free breakfast. We are located in downtown Ellsworth, Maine, about a half hour from Acadia National Park. Room sizes, bed sizes, and availability vary.

Very dirty. Oh, and rude, too. And probably unsafe.
Reviewed By barbara bService was rude from the first moment. Lobby was really dirty, and I was embarrassed for the foreign tourists in the lobby who were clearly horrified. Stairs were super steep (we had reserved ground floor rooms which the manager said "would not accommodate" us) and extremely dirty. Manager was curt and harried, and gave us keys that didn't work. Instead of making new ones, he marched us back up to our room to show us a thing or two...and showed us he couldn't get the keys to work, either. His attitude was more helpful after that, but the room was awful. The rollaway bed we'd reserved months in advance had "just been given to another guest." We were scared of the sofa: the cushions were so stained and sticky you could use them to make soup. (The crumbs underneath could be your crackers.) There was a pile of sunflower seeds and used masks on the floor beneath a table. And the carpet was ghastly. We understand COVID staff shortages, and gave a lot of leeway on our trip. This was the only place we were treated like inconvenient idiots. Left as soon as possible in the morning, and didn't look back - so I don't even know if there was coffee. Or if it tasted like couch cushions. At least it gave us something to laugh about for the rest of the trip.

Quaint tiny cottage!

The decor is cute and fit right in for our vacation. No housekeeping, which is fine. I do wish they left extra towels. I’m sure they would’ve brought them if I asked!! About 40 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia. The town of Ellsworth is close. Some good restaurants there. It’s really nice to park right in front of the cottage and unload

Very disappointed
Reviewed By joannmondrusBy reading the ad for this inn, and the other reviews, we had our expectations for a pleasant stay. We were very disappointed in what we found. We never were greeted in person by the owner/manager. We were only given texts with the room code to enter. The texts did offer communication if we needed anything, however when I sent a text explaining how in bad shape our room was, and for the price we paid, the text was never answered even with a request to reply. The location is off a busy highway in the back of a strip mall. The handle came off of the shower faucet. The water was a drip in the shower with hardly any water pressure. The ceiling looked like it was going to fall in in the bathroom. The mirror was so low, and off center from the sink you had to bend to even see yourself. I feel this place charged way too high a price for what they offer. I realize it was high season, but at least give a guest a better stay or return a portion of the price. When I looked on line to see what the rooms for going for on that weekend I found the prices were $89 (more in line with what they offer). We were charged over $200 a night. I tried reaching out to the manager to no avail. They even had a Trip Advisor sticker in their window. How they received that recognition is a head scratcher. I can not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay.
