We had a huge room with a comfortable bed and jacuzzi. It was very quiet and cool despite being 33 degrees outside! Would highly recommend

Reviewed By Ricktravel44The hotel itself is very nice and clean. The rooms are very spacious and the surrounding is beautiful. We used the spa and was great. Buffett dinner was also very good and good assortment, including breakfast. The main issue is that my wife has had back surgery and we were given a room on the farthest point of the hotel. I brought this up during checkin but the hotel was full. The hotel has various floor levels and the rooms are far away having to go up and down outside stairs with many steps. We were told that the hotel offered a free service to transfer customers to the rooms and to the main lobby using their cart. This service is not offered 24 hrs. The security guard had to take us back to the room after dinner because the receptionist can't at night and in the morning when I asked to be taken to breakfast and to complete checkout at 07:30 we were told that there was no one working offering this service until 08:00 so we had to wait an extra 30 minutes. In my opinion if you have all those golf carts just parked, you could allow someone with limited mobility to check one of those out so they can move around the hotel. We basically didn't enjoy the other services such as the pool and the surroundings because of this.

Reviewed By Mark SA lovely family run traditional Andalusian hotel where the staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean comfy with en suit and free WiFi. Breakfast included. It is very well located close to the village square with local bars and surprisingly good restaurants. A car would benefit you so you can access the fantastic beaches at Barbate, although use the car parks opposite the beach as the sandy ones on the same site of the road do flood when the tide come in.

Excellent Short Stay
Reviewed By richardgD4322OZWe spent three nights at Hotel Cortijo Las Grullas. The rooms are traditional but spotlessly clean and well maintained. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard where we had our meals. Breakfasts are substantial and very good and evening meals a combination of barbecued meats and traditional dishes. The owner was very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome We had a very enjoyable stay there and I and I would have no hesitation in recommending it

Une arnaque... Una estafa !

Ce n'est nullement mentionné sur leur site ! Et que dire de la piscine avec des jeunes du village dans l'eau, avec casques et serviettes de toutes sortes (donc NON de l'hôtel... Et le Covid dans tout ça ? Passez votre chemin, les chambres ne sont pas insonorisées, elles sont petites et notre unique armoire ne tenait presque pas debout... C'est une honte !! Fuyez ! Non testé le restaurant, on en avait bien assez après une unique nuit sans sommeil... C'est une arnaque et une publicité mensongère.

Beautiful site + really poor services = overall unpleasant experience
Reviewed By WorldTraveller008264We booked 2 nights here, staying in a bell tent along with our toddler, for an anniversary trip. The tent was lovely, well-equipped with comfortable beds. The site was beautiful with a pretty lake, lots of open space and horses and cows roaming freely. Our first impression was great. Dinner time was when it all started to go wrong. You can't bring your own food to site so I'd emailed in advance to check what food options there were. I was told there is a bar serving a wide menu open from 9am to 10.30pm. Sounded great. We headed to the bar around 6pm as our little one was getting hungry and were told they were only serving drinks, the chef wasn't there and would arrive around 8 or 9pm to start dinner. This was much too late for us and was so disappointing. We ended up just eating some snacks we'd brought with us for dinner. It's ridiculous to make guests reliant on you for food, then only serve food at such limited hours, and not even tell people in advance what those hours are. The place is marketed as family-friendly but 9pm is very late for dinner for people with small children, especially international guests. I understand that Spanish people eat dinner later than people from most other countries but there are usually at least tapas available at earlier times. The absolute most basic thing you want when on holiday is to be able to eat when you're hungry. We didn't get a great night's sleep as there was a bright street light right next to our tent which kept it lit up inside all night. We then woke in the morning to find there was a power cut. It was quite cold and we couldn't use the heater in our tent. It also meant there was no running water in the bathroom block - no showers and no flushing toilets. The staff said the power was out in the whole area so they had no idea when it would be back on. They were very apologetic but they did say it happens quite often. If your running water is dependent on electric then you need to invest in a back-up generator or something. It's not acceptable to leave guests without running water for hours, especially in Covid times. We waited about 4 hours and the power still wasn't back on so we packed up and left. There was lots of activities on offer which looked interesting. We'd planned to go kayaking but unfortunately didn't get to because we left early. Overall, it was a really unpleasant experience and just felt like such a shame because the place has a lot of potential. My advice would be, decide whether you want to be a glamping site or a full service resort. Either allow guests to bring their own food or have food available to buy all day. And have a back-up plan in place for power cuts.
