My friend and I have frequented this Chinese restaurant for years not only for its convenient location but also for its food. Whether we like veggie dishes or seafood, sushi bar or salad bar, we would always find what you like on the buffet. One thing that I don't quite like is its greasy chicken wings. I do like fried wings, but theirs are too oily.Fairly reasonable price for lunch, since $8.75 would be good enough for everything included (food, tax, and tips). The servers are good. Though they don't speak much English or chat with diners, they are nice, friendly, and do their jobs well. More importantly for drivers on I-35 N who might want to have Chinese food for lunch in Ankeny, this place is easy to find and close to the highway exit.

The original Jade Garden was operated by a family and it was located on the South end of Ankeny. It was then sold and the new owners moved it to the North end of town in a different building on the opposite side (West side) of the same street. The menu is about the same but the food is not as good as before. I love Chinese food so I have been a frequent customer of this restaurant over the years. I have stopped going there because I don't care for the way the new owners cook the food. The service is fast. The prices are competitive. There iis free parking next to the new building.

The hot and sour soup had a smoky undertone I found unusual and pleasant. The Szechuan scallops were great -- large helping with plenty of scallops. The spicy level was a bit milder than I prefer, but was spicy. Service was great. The restaurant is attractive and the tables aren't crowded together. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Very good first time experience. Friendly staff with great service. We did not do Teppanyaki (Hibachi Grill for some), however ordered from that menu. The meats were cooked very well, not over done and cooked vegetables excellent. The Tempura starter was just OK, the batter was way to heavy and thick for Tempura. The shrimp and vegetables were perfect. Will be our go to place for Ankeny.

After many recommendations from friends we finally ate dinner here. We had beef with broccoli, Mongolian beef and cashew chicken. Serving size was good and you get soup, egg roll and crab Rangoon. It is served more fast food style as you order at counter and then go sit down. However, the food quality was excellent and the staff was friendly. You can also add a pop to your meal for an extra $1. I highly recommend this place for family or friends.

I was not prepared for how nice this place looked inside. The bland stripmall storefront does not give away the lovely interior consisting of wood flooring, plank walls, and black tables. The two ladies taking orders and working the small restaurant were pleasant and helpful. Their is a bit of a language barrier while placing our order, but they were so nice in the process. The food was fantastic. We had a large order of nine main course meals. Every single item was made correctly, on time and piping hot. The flavors were beautiful. They nailed the heat scale with 1 through 5. A+ to this place for atmosphere, service and great food.

We've eaten at several HuHot Mongolian Grills, but this one is our favorite. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is always fresh and delicious. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, and we've never been disappointed. It's always my husband's choice for celebrating his birthday, which is what we did recently.
