I was happy I ordered the Spicy Chicken. It was delicious. Served with some sprouts, rice, kimchi, and mac salad. They actually plate small portions of these sides when you order, so you don't get to select your choices, and they do not offer the table an array of sides to pick on while you wait as most authentic Korean restaurants do. My friends had some fried items that did not look particularly inspiring, and the kalbi was cut very thin and did not look shiny hot the way I like to see it served. Everyone cleaned their plates so I guess they enjoyed their meals, I thought mine was great.Parking at Waimalu Shopping Center, where this restaurant is at the "Waikiki" end, is very tight. We ate lunch at around 2:15 and were lucky to find parking even at this after lunch hour.

In the many years of living in Oahu we had never been to any one of this chain of restaurants, we were looking for a different place to dine in the Pearl City area so we thought we would give it a go. As you enter, you can clearly see this is not a fine dining restaurant but we decided to try it anyway since the menu seemed extensive, we would find something that was okay, wouldn’t we?. Another thing to note especially in hawaii, if there are no Japanese people dining in a Japanese restaurant, then it’s probably not that good. Warning unheeded we proceeded. We asked to be sat in a quiet part of the restaurant and the server did their absolute best to accommodate, all the servers and the manager was very attentive, polite, friendly. The quickest service award for the bringing of beer $8.50 to the table. Small Hot Sake $7 followed. The rainbow roll was made with immigration crab $15.50 overpriced. The shrimp tempura $21.95 4 cold and somewhat tasteless shrimp, 2 slices of eggplant and a green bean all in a limp tempura batter. The accompanying miso soup was okay and the salad was fresh lettuce and 2 slices of cucumber and grated carrot again okay. The chicken Katsu / steak combination both were fatty and almost cold in temperature. In short, The restaurant was very old, tatty and really a bit dirty, the food disappointing But the service was excellent.

Yes, the location of this place may be sketchy, found in between parking garage levels, but it'll pleasantly surprise you. It's a take out kind of place because there's absolutely no space inside to sit down and eat. Luckily, there are a few concrete tables and seating right outside. Your sushi will be brought out to you in to-go boxes. If you're new to sushi, he's nice enough to explain to you how most people eat the rolls (with or without ginger and/or wasabi and/or soy sauce). Large sushi rolls and moderately priced

Good price, good portions. First time at this type of place and thought it was an Interesting concept. Not sure I would go back. Didn't like that there was food on the conveyor belt that was suppose to be hot kept going around and around. We were there for about hour and feel some of those items should have been removed.

My husband & I, along with another couple, had a wonderful lunch on a weekend . The owners work behind the sushi bar and welcome each customer. The owners recognized us as regulars and sent a complimentary appetizer of delicious salmon & pickled cucumbers . My soft shell crab was lightly battered & fried on top of a green salad & local tomatoes . My husband was satisfied with 1 order of the soft shell crab "Spider Roll". We used to live in Pearl City for 9 years. We return to Tadashi whenever we return to the island's about once a year. Excellent food & service!

This place is tiny but very friendly. I thought the wait staff was spot-on with their attentiveness. The prices are incredibly fair and rolls themselves are all delicious. I've been here several times and they don't seem to use the cheap crab filling that is so common on the island. I plan to continue eating here.

Kabuki Restaurant & Deli

One of the few remaining old school local Japanese restaurants, the other being Gyotaku. Many "aunties" have been working decades here, dressed in their classic yukatas and graciously making you feel at home. Their teishoku dishes offer generous portions at reasonable prices, inclusive of miso soup, sashimi or oden, tempura, and your choice of a main. Their go-to is the misoyaki butterfish. I tried their daily special, deep fried flounder, which was a generously portioned whole flounder, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Although the ingredients and preparation are not as high quality and precise as the more authentic (and pricey) Japanese restaurants, Kabuki's quantity and value is what keeps many coming back. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is large and can accommodate large group and parties.
