My wife and were out exploring backroads and came across this restaurant. It was attractive from the outside so we stopped by. The inside is clean and stylish. The food is reasonably priced. We had a plate of croquettas, a mixed salad, and a sidra menu (Ribeye steak and a cod fish/egg dish). The kitchen was a little slow with the Ribeye, but the food was excellent. I have had many txuleta's (that's the Ribeye) in this part of Spain and this was probably the best I have eaten.

One of those meals that you will talk about for ever. Everything we ordered was fantastic and there were 6 of us! What an incredible meal. We were actually going to Casa Julian but it was closed. Asking for another place we ran into the lady that delivers the fish to Burruntzi and gave us directions. We could not find it and asked at the bakery. The bakery lady walked us to the restaurant. Nice people in Tolosa!

Located in the basement of the Sidreria (a cider production facility) this is a family run restaurant. Very non-touristy, very local. Only a few things on the menu, but what you want to eat is the typical local menu for 2: delicious fried cod, a huge portion of grilled ribs and as many glasses of locally produced cider as you want (you go to the huge barrels and pour it yourself!). Price for 2: 60 EUR. Absolutely fantastic. The dinner starts at 8.00 pm. but better come at 9.00 pm.One of the best dinner experiences I had in my life.

Nicolas Ruiz,is the name to be remembered as the fist of this house. After leaving his peculiar Bar Montetxe, which it was well known by the neighbors and companies of Arramele, founded with his wife Pepita Elizondo the Asador Casa Nicolas in 1960. There
Nicolas serves steak, full stop. There are no first courses and no side dishes besides salad and pimiento al piquillo. The steak, however, is simply delicious. Huge cuts, charcoal grilled rare to medium, served on a sizzling plate. It's as simple as that. And don't miss on the wine menu, which has a broad range of local, Spanish, French and Italian reds. A fantastic steakhouse can be so simple ...

We booked this having seen the tv programme Amazing Places To Eat...we were not the only ones so making a reservation is essential...quite a small unassuming place but the welcome and passion from the staff is second to none...the place has a great atmosphere and is run very well...if you enjoy steak this is the place for you but the meat is served rare..so beware!....great bar next door!

Typical cider house in central Ordizia. Up to 140 people. Typical menu with "txotx" (cider barrels), omelette, fried codfish, beef steak, cheese, quince, walnuts and homemade cakes. Special menus on request. Menu of the day and weekend. Free Wiffi
I am a New Zealander living in the Basque country. I have had the tortilla bacalao (basically fish omelette), bean beef soup and many dishes. They have authentic basque country flavoursome food. It's definitely an authentic experience dining at Tximista. It is quite expensive but you are not only paying for the food but also the experience itself and well free refills of apple cider. I also love their desserts especially the flan. The owners are a friendly and courteous couple. highly recommend!
