Very quit, nice and friendly staff
Reviewed By F DI was able to experience 8 beautiful quiet days, it is a pity that the last 2 nights the neighbors were very noisy by watching TV until 3 a.m., that was less, but that is the responsibility of the travelers who stayed there, not of the owner or staff. Highly recommended for a quiet holiday, not a luxury but ideal for exploring all regions of Almeria, car is recommended. Thank you to the staff who also do their best to speak English

Disappointing experience despite the lovely setting
Reviewed By Clare LWe arrived with high hopes: after walking for 11 miles we couldn’t find the hotel but Ana on the front desk was extremely helpful and even came to pick us up. The rooms were new, bright and airy, with amazing views and a small terrace at the front and back. However, when we asked for a table in the hotel restaurant for that night we were told it was full. We were really tired after our walk but had to get a taxi to and from the nearest small town (20 euros each way) to find something to eat as there was nowhere else in Rodalquilar. When we arrived back at the hotel, we counted 9 people eating there. The next morning was even more bizarre: when we arrived for breakfast - which we’d already paid 10 euros each for - we were told that there was nothing hot apart from bread and we ended up with 2 small ham and cheese sandwiches, a coffee and an orange juice, which wasn’t great before another long hike. I know it was the end of the season early November) but if the hotel is still open and still charging the same prices, they need to offer a decent breakfast at the very least. Very disappointing overall.

For individualists who love pure nature...La Ermita (an old Heritage) is situated in the midst of the "Natural Park of Cabo de Gata" in the southeast of Andalusia. There are 2 exquisite houses available. One is called "La Era," the other one "La Iglesia", a wonderful flat we have integrated in the old church of La Ermita. Each house has its own terrace, garden or inside patio. Both with a wonderful view to the sea and throughout the valley of Rodalquilar. Here we have 320 sunny days per year and mostly one is able to swim till the end of December. It's a place were the eye looks for the soul...

Reviewed By LaineTerA perfect location for nature lovers. Mountain views and sea view. A lot of energy is hanging around out there. The apartment is trendy and has a wonderful terrace. Very helpful and friendly manager. A place to remember, a place to return.

Beautiful and tranquil setting
Reviewed By Clangy1969I spent 4 nights here with a friend. The room is lovely and light and clean. The hosts are really helpful and the breakfast is very generous. The pool is a great addition and I especially enjoyed a late afternoon swim. The views of the mountains are stunning. It’s only a small walk to Rodalquilar town. I would recommend dinner at Azul (Spanish/Mexican fusion). The only sound at night is a wonderful chorus of frogs and cicadas. We hired a car and there is a stunning costal road that runs up to San Jose. Playa de Mónsul has some good places to dine and the beach is pretty. There are some remote beaches you have to pay a fee for but it’s worth it. It really is very tranquil and lovely setting. I would highly recommend staying here.

Bad service
Reviewed By tavedVery disappointed. We booked here the day before and got only an email an 10:30 on the day of arrival that the booking was cancelled. The owner claims he closed for maintenance work and “forgot” to close the booking. However on his websites booking was still open and available afterwards. At least next time please CALL your customers if you cancel last minute, don’t just send an email!

Relaxing & charming
Reviewed By mark AA big thank you to La Cortijada for our very relaxing stay. Breakfast on the terrace was included in the price & it was a real feast. We had a basement suite & it was air conditioned, lovely & cool. There is a large lounge & free bar for guests, simply a lovely place to stay.
