Safety and security issues here

I stayed here with my mom for three nights. The hotel was overall very nice aesthetically. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the breakfast spread was one of the better ones I've seen for the "free breakfast" deals. However, two things happened during our stay that were very alarming. First, one morning in the lobby there was a man roaming around who was obviously very high on something. He was hanging around the breakfast buffet, taking multiple plates of food, going in and out of the bathroom multiple times, and roaming around the lobby breakfast area talking to himself. This alone would not have been an issue (no crime in acting weird, I suppose), but after about 30 minutes of this, an employee came and joined him, taking his own mound of free breakfast, and the two of them exited the hotel together. It appeared that this person was an associate of the employee who was waiting for his friend to clock out, and then both of them helped themselves to the breakfast buffet that was provided for paying guests. This incident alone would not have been noteworthy (other than the obvious--the employee and his friend were both stealing), except that when we returned to our room late that evening after being gone for over 13 hours, we found our room door propped open! Upon entering our room, we saw the empty trash can in the middle of the entryway. It appeared that housekeeping had entered our room, grabbed the garbage, and then left the door propped open with the little latch thing. Of course, we immediately checked all of our belongings to make sure that nothing was missing (thank goodness everything was there, including my laptop computer and our other devices). I called the front desk to let them know that housekeeping had left my door open, and the girl seemed very nonplussed--as though it was no big deal. Apparently there was no manager on duty that night (the young woman at the front desk informed me that the manager had left early that day for a family party and could not be reached). I know that help is hard to find these days, but it seems very fishy that the employees at this hotel are allowing their drug-induced friends to roam around the hotel, and then the housekeeping people left my room door wide open for God-knows-how-many-hours. When I reported both incidents to the manager the next morning, she feigned concern but had no explanation for either event--and didn't even seem to think it was a big deal that my room had been left open for 6+ hours! Very, very strange. Can't help but wonder if there is some sort of operation happening at this hotel to separate guests from their valuables. Beware. I would not recommend staying here.

Amazing resort right with a lake view

What a beautiful resort right on the lake! My husband and I spent 4 days here and had a nice, relaxing vacation. I definitely recommend the lake view balcony room for the beautiful view. We loved having the adult only pool with the swim up bar. The restaurant had delicious food and the spa was amazing! The only thing I wish we had was an early checkin. We arrived early but weren’t able to check in until 4pm so we just hung by the pool until then. We’ll definitely be back again!

Nice Place, needs new management

The postitives were it was clean, the support staff was friendly. An overall nice place to stay. Our stay was soured by the fact we had to wait 20 minutes for someone to appear at the front desk in the evening and when we did get someone they were less than helpful and completely ingnored our complaint. The manager and other front desk staff were dismissive and downright unfriendly. It's a shame such nice facility is run by folks that clearly should not be in a service industry.

The staff here had the worst customer service that I have seen since the days of the Soviet Union. Surly and rude would be and understatement. This is the worst service I have ever received at any Marriott hotel. Avoid at all costs!

Texas Timeshare In Lakeway

Peace and quiet are wonderful here!

Reviewed By Navigator466722

We were four adults between 60 and 65 years of age. The location of our unit was right above the marina so it provided a lot of interesting entertainment with boats going in and out. It was great to drink coffee in the morning and refreshing beverages in the evening and just relax. We were grateful for a nice place to stay, but offer a few suggestions: 1) With two couples sharing the cost of the unit for a two bedroom space, the second bedroom should be as nice as the one with the king size bed. The second bedroom bed was barely the size of a double bed and didn't offer our friends a very comfortable nights sleep. Staying on the sleeper sofa wasn't an option for them because early risers would wake them up. 2) Toilet bowls need updating. You will be sitting very low so be prepared if your older. 3) The sliding door to the lovely balcony was awful. The wheels on the bottom of the door were crushed so getting in and out without throwing your back out was a challenge. The maintenance man came as soon as possible but was only able to make temporary adjustments to the door. It was better after he made adjustments but still very challenging. 4) We had one assigned parking space and another car parked in our space for an entire day and night over the weekend. Since the office was closed, there was no one to help with this issue. We parked in guest parking that day. 5) We wished the pool would have been available but totally understand the ordinance by the city made that impossible because of Covid. 6) Lovely area and wonderful for day time drives. Great small cafe - Cafe Lago near by is open for breakfast and lunch. It's a place the locals go and you can know the food is great. 7) We loved it at Texas Timeshare and will likely go back. The management staff is excellent and communicates beautifully with guests. Perhaps some of our suggestions will aid in improving this amazing property.
