Excellent 5 Day Stay
Reviewed By VchurtChecked in with no problem, the Staff was very friendly and the room was great. Very comfortable beds and enough pillows to satisfy my wife. The room had a refrigerator and microwave oven. Breakfast is good especially on the weekends, The facility is very clean and well kept also very close to points of interest in the Glen Rose area. Thank you JC Stone and your Staff for such a nice facility.

Reviewed By 6branchWe as a family overnighted here in the Carriage House. I had searched for Glen Rose lodging and not much came up for our date, so I booked here as a last resort to be honest. As we arrived, I knew the place was special. The grounds were amazing and our historical accommodations were some of the cutest we’ve ever encountered. The Carriage House was well appointed and decorated to the nines with traditional farm paraphernalia. The beds were so comfy and there was a full kitchen although we had no need for it. We enjoyed the best traveling breakfast ever in the barn- scrambled eggs, biscuits with sausage, blueberry preserves, fruit, blueberry muffins. All homemade there in the kitchen. The decor of the barn room was full of memories of the family farm. There were lots of activities and books for children! Think Cracker Barrel but you’re a part of someone’s home. As we sat to breakfast, it reminded me of the Inn in the movie White Christmas- so cozy and with so much thought out into it. Now let’s talk about the animals at the farm. This is a petting zoo with all the traditional critters to love on. A horse to brush (brushes provided), sheep, goats and llama to feed and bunnies to pet. There are fire pits, swings, treehouses, footballs in the yard. This place is like going to grandmas and getting full run of the place and being spoiled along the way. The Country Inn is close to all Glen Rose attractions- we came to town for the Dinosaur Valley NP and it only took a short time to get there. The Riverwalk is also just around the corner. Can’t recommend The Country Woods Inn enough- if you ever have the opportunity to go, take the kids. You’ll all love it.

The Inn, which is designated a Texas Historical Landmark, is elegantly furnished to provide the ultimate in comfort. No two rooms are alike, but each is tastefully decorated with an antique armoire, fine linens, a feather bed and a goose-down comforter. All rooms have a private bath. The price of the room includes a full breakfast in our dining room overlooking the gardens.

Reviewed By tommI7273HLStayed for three nights over the weekend. The room was clean enough, but the door didn't fully close on its own. The hotel is a but out-dated, but clean enough. Nothing really bad to say, it's just an average hotel. There were a couple of things that were odd to me; 1. The TV stations were not HD. I mean this is 2019, come on. 2. The Internet was not secured, which is not good. Lastly, the coffee was just bad! I mean the breakfast is pretty standard fair for low end hotel food, but the coffee was poor. Didn't get the chance to use the pool or other amenities. The staff that I encountered were friendly and the parking area was well lit.

Quiet Property in a Nice Town
Reviewed By devinh407At $70 one never quite is sure what they'll encounter. Fortunately the room was acceptable in every way (clean, serviceable and quiet). I feared that at that rate some unsavories worried keep me up all night, but it's a small town and I guess they keep a lid on that stuff. Only weird thing was that the front desk was never attended. Every time I'd pass, no one was there. Thankfully no emergencies or TV control needing batteries!
