Isla Del Encanto

We had driven by this place several times and tonight wanted to eat food from Puerto Rico. Unfortunately it was not near what we hoped it would be. Service was slow, the staff was lost and people had to wait too long for a table. The food was not that great either and it was expensive for what we ate. At one point the chef “who we think was the owner” walked out of the kitchen to address a complaint from a family that had been waited to be seated while the restaurant had 4 or 5 empty tables and after he took care of them had to stay on the floor to sit other customers. We do not recommend this restaurant.

Bahama Breeze

Being from the Caribbean I was skeptical of eating at "Bahama Breeze", but it was an easy walk from the hotel and I was hungry. I sat at the bar and was cared for by "Tilo" who offered a little humour and enthusiasm to her role. The food was decent and the price fair and the service was a notch above expectation. Not too bad.

I'm writing this review specifically about the coffee window at this La Carreta because I don't think the ladies who work it get enough credit. I visited today on my way to an appointment and like always, it's a rewarding and fun experience. The day crew, Alba in particular, are lively, quick, and always have a one liner ready. I'm a guy who likes a sense of humor so it works for me. You show up smiling and leave with a smile. The coffee is always good and if you get the croquettes hot out of the oven they're amazing. All in all, unlike some other places, this is always the right stuff!

Good place for lunch or dinner. I believe a late breakfast is served and they have great cuban coffee. The food is Latin origin with great black beans. If you prefer red beans, please ask for it and you will be served, however you have to request red beans. I actually prefer the red beans. The meals consist of beef, seafood and poultry.
