The perfect holiday spot
Reviewed By Go261223Zum Beck has just the right combination of elements that makes for a perfect holiday - cosy rooms, kind, flexible and friendly staff, an outstanding breakfast and the location is nothing short of incredible (few steps from the lake, easy access to hike and bike routes, close to station). We spent only 3 days in Stanstad, but I can say with confidence that staying at Zum Beck made us feel home and taken care of. By far the best hospitality experience we had in Switzerland in our 5 years here.

Good position on the lake
Reviewed By Lesley AWe stayed here for 5 nights following a drive from Zurich. Nice parking area in the hotel grounds which is free & easy to access. However, it should be noted that the hotel does not have a reception desk & entry to the hotel is via the Restaurant where staff will confirm bookings & deliver keys. We were assigned room 37 on the 3rd floor with a view over the town & towards the mountains. The rooms are dated but very large & comfortable. The bathroom is much newer & has all the usual requirements. A small kitchenette area is in the room, which enables the making of tea/coffee (tho’ you will need to supply your own ‘makings’, with a fridge for storing cold stuffs. The room has a large bed with warm duvets, a table with 4 chairs, a lounge & a wardrobe with hanging & shelf space. There is no aircon in the room & it is difficult to cool if the weather is hot. If the weather is wet, windows cannot be opened to let in fresh air, or the rain will come in. As we were located on the side of the building nearest the church & bell tower, it was difficult to sleep with windows open as the hourly, half hourly & quarter hourly bells could be heard throughout the night. Breakfast on the terrace in the Restaurant was well provided, with O/J, eggs for boiling, various breads, jams, cheeses, ham, salami, cereals, croissants & a selection of teas & fresh brewed coffees available. This was included in the room price. We also visited for lunch and this too was more than adequate, despite it being a menu du jour. Overall, whilst this place is not a ‘main’ hotel, it is comfortable, central, with larger than average rooms & is easy to find. It has all the basic requirements & staff speak a number of languages. Would stay again.

Reviewed By Ankita LHotel is quite far from nearest boat Station. No lift, no air conditioner, no fan even.. carry your luggage by own no helping Hand from Hotel. Staff was nice but owner is quite rude.. Review Hotel rules before booking as rules are quite tough and they Charge one to one EURO Exchange with CHF.

An extraordinary stay

The former monastery is now home to those who like stylish and minimalist design, where colours and interiors harmonize with the building's history. Culinarum Alpinum is beautifully situated on a hill with amazing views of the Alps and surrounded by tranquility. You will have a good nights sleep in their comfortable beds with luxuary linen sheets. All food served is delicious with rich tastes and everything served is locally produced and carefully selected, their menu following the seasons. I can highly recommend their tasting menu. Not to forget to mention their nice and service minded staff. All in all, Culinarum Alpinum is a place to return to!

Reviewed By baenz-49Obschon wir 3 Wochen voraus gebucht hatten waren wir von unserem Tisch im Sääli (?Jägerstübli) enttäuscht. Das Menu jedoch überzeugte uns. Alle Teller sehr schön angerichtet - ein Genuss. Der Service nett und kompetent. Letztendlich hatten wir einen gediegenen Abend. Wir probieren nochmal - aber dann im Hauptrestaurant.

She runs the hotel and is just such a lovely person. She was so helpful and kind that we would definitely come back because our experience was great. The rooms that we stayed in were remodeled and everything was nice. The beds are so comfortable! In the morning you have a huge selection of foods available that are fresh. The restaurant was great. We ate there every night and it was perfect. I can’t say enough good things about our stay and I highly recommend coming to this small town and live for a few days in peace and quiet.

Reviewed By StephanieVB87Wow, this accommodation really is excellent. Spotlessly clean, quiet, modern, comfortable, large, beautifully decorated room with excellent facilities. Welcoming and friendly hosts made check in easy. Large comfy king size bed, TV with loads of channels including English ones, coffee machine, fridge and even a full length mirror. Loads of little extra nice touches like chocolates on the bed side tables and Swiss to European/English plug adapters, so we didn’t even need the ones we packed. Loved the rabbit theme! ?Great location in Stans, and underground parking reasonable at 5chf. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here, was so relaxing after a long day driving through Switzerland. Highly recommended.
