During the Roman rule it was named Blanda or Blandae. It is known as the "Gateway to the Costa Brava". Its coast is part of the Costa Brava, which stretches from Blanes up to the French border. The township is 18.29 km². Blanes is a popular tourist town, and it is known for the Concurs de Focs d'Artifici during the Santa Anna festival; this event includes a lot of fireworks. Other places of interest include a botanical gardens, coves, such as the Cala Bona, and beaches which are surrounded by mountains.

Went here a few times for a treat, my wife is Dutch and know's the best food to order. lovely food and nice people with a wonderful view looking out over the beach and sea.

Nice place! Nice servings! Good staff!Delicious calamari fritti, amazing mixture of sorted croquettes (squid ink, cheese, vegetables, ham,etc... they just come... You can't order the one's you want), great bread toasts of local coca bread... Amazing bravas potatoes and a good selections of wines as well as good music to enjoy your time there! Some days a bit windy... But that's life in front of the sea!

The cuisine is excellent. We had vegan Russian salad, Patatas bravas with vegan sauce, vegan tortilla de patata, vegan chorizo, vegan squid rings and vegan cheese cake! It was excellent! If it wasnât written in the menu that it was vegan, I would have never guessed! The atmosphere is very cozy and the service is excellent. We will definitely return. Many thanks to Sa Capça staff!

We had been stranded by our holiday company and Spike at Joe's bar was our saviour. He pointed us in the right direction and we eventually found our apartment. We returned to Joe's several times during the week we stayed in Blanes as it was always the most welcoming bar with the friendliest staff. We only ate there once, but it was delicious and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this bar for food and drinks even if you're not a sports fan.Thanks again, Spike.

I have nothing but good to say about this bar. We went once and then tried a couple of other places but returned here every time. A good English cup of tea with the most amazing breakfast and then back again at lunch time for toasties ( now they know who I am lol ) Karen , Joe , Nick and the rest of the team were the most gracious hosts and we actually felt as though we went in as strangers and left as friends. Thank you team Shamrock you were fantastic xx

Lovely place, lovely views, lovely food, lovely drinks choice and fabulous staff! Job done! Great for daytime or evening, great music, clean and friendly. Staff are fabulous, taught us some Spanish and chatted and recognised us when we returned a few times. And wi if from the hotel above!
