Koper (Slovene pronunciation: [ˈkoːpəɾ] ( listen)) (Italian: Capodistria) is a city in southwestern Slovenia, with the other Slovenian coastal towns Ankaran, Izola, Piran, and Portorož, situated along the country's 47-kilometre (29-mile) coastline, in the Istrian Region, approximately five kilometres (3.1 miles) from its border with Italy. Having a unique ecology and biodiversity, it is considered an important national natural resource. The city's Port of Koper is the major contributor to the economy of the eponymous city municipality. With only one percent of Slovenia having a coastline, the influence that the Port of Koper also has on tourism was a factor in Ankaran deciding to leave the municipality in a referendum in 2011 to establish its own. The city is a destination on a number of Mediterranean cruising lines. In 2016, the city expects 65 cruise ship arrivals (for example: Norwegian Spirit, MSC Magnifica, Norwegian Jade, MS Rhapsody of the Seas...) with the season spanning from March to December. Koper is the main urban centre of the Slovenian Istria, with a population of about 25,000.

Stopped her for a drink while in Koper for the day. Had a great beer called Waterloo, my wife enjoyed a wine and my daughter a coffee and the free WiFi.Waitress spoke English and was very friendly.

Very very nice staff and great food and atmosphere. They have a soup called (forgive the spelling) trehana. Prounounced "tray-Hannah." Try it! This place is worth a visit, a great meal, a few cold beers, and some very nice people.

This is not an ordinary pizzeria/restaurant. The pizzeria is opened just on certain days and to eat there the reservation is a must. The reservations can be done through FB or SMS. Also the working days and available pizzas for each week is published on the FB page.But when you visit the pizzeria you start to understand the approach. Pizzas are fabulous. It is hard to pick the best one - my recommendation is to buy one piece of each pizza and then you can taste all of them.Andrea and Riccardo, who run the pizzeria, are true perfectionists and therefore want to offer their guests only the best. The pizzas on the menu are made from the finest ingredients.The dough (pasta) is the one I have eaten only in the best Neapolitan pizzerias, maybe even better.Here are some examples of ingredients which Andrea and Riccardo are using on pizzas: cherry vinaigrette, smoked swordfish, buratta, figs, lard (lardo), etc.

My husband an I have visited the place three times so far, and every time we went the food was excellent. Family-run, with great sense for customer service, I recommend this place not just to plant-based enthusiasts, but also to people who simply like good, homemade food. Crostatas, potato and pasta salads, soups, and main courses like pancakes with spinach filling that change daily - we tried most of it, and all was delicious. The "worst" thing about the place is that it got pastries you can*t say no to. Prices are moderate. Will be visiting soon again.Thank you very much for your review. Itâs mostly sea food, you can also find meat dishes. But both are so delicius (fresh) and filling that theyâre worth the price. Prices are around 10-20 per dish. And the service is so kind that youâd like to stay and chat.
