Koper (Slovene pronunciation: [ˈkoːpəɾ] ( listen)) (Italian: Capodistria) is a city in southwestern Slovenia, with the other Slovenian coastal towns Ankaran, Izola, Piran, and Portorož, situated along the country's 47-kilometre (29-mile) coastline, in the Istrian Region, approximately five kilometres (3.1 miles) from its border with Italy. Having a unique ecology and biodiversity, it is considered an important national natural resource. The city's Port of Koper is the major contributor to the economy of the eponymous city municipality. With only one percent of Slovenia having a coastline, the influence that the Port of Koper also has on tourism was a factor in Ankaran deciding to leave the municipality in a referendum in 2011 to establish its own. The city is a destination on a number of Mediterranean cruising lines. In 2016, the city expects 65 cruise ship arrivals (for example: Norwegian Spirit, MSC Magnifica, Norwegian Jade, MS Rhapsody of the Seas...) with the season spanning from March to December. Koper is the main urban centre of the Slovenian Istria, with a population of about 25,000.

Service is fast, atmosphere is nice. Food is good for what you pay so the quality/price ratio is excellent. Food is not the best or extraordinary you ever had but portions are big and tasty. Definitely a good place if you do not want to spend a lot but definitely leave with a full belly. On the menu' you can find a bit of everything: pizza, pasta, rice, soups, meat, fish, eggs, salad, desserts. In this place we love having the typical dessert from the balkans: "palaÄinke".

Always hard to find a restaurant in a tourist area that provides great food. By following some locals we arrived at this place. Excellent range of fish, including mussels, soups and pizzas, felt like a real insider place.Staff spoke good English and even remembered us a few hours later after passing by. Recommended.

We enjoyed excellent family lunch in a pleasant atmosphere, served by friendly host. Soups, meat, vegetable, olive oil, desserts, all was fresh and very tasty. It's a bit out of the way. Reservation is recommended as usually the restaurant is closed at Mo, Tu and Wednesday.

The service was 5 stars. Our server was very attentive and friendly and even transferred us to the bigger table once it got free. After the dinner, he even treated us some quince rakia and invited to some afterparty they were holding that night. The food was superb. We've ordered a mixed plate for two where you'll get everything the restaurant offers. I barely managed to finish it. The atmosphere was cosy since the night was warm. Would come back again when in Koper.

The atmosphere is very pleasant, recently renovated, and inviting even crowded - as it is very popular, a reservation is obligatory. The waiting staff is very unattentive. The most disappointing fact was that the place is popular for grilled meat - but the taste is hard to stomach from not cleaning the grill regularly.

We were on a TUI cruise so only had a few hours in Koper so we decided to stop for some lunch and a beer. We found this little restaurant whilst walking towards the old harbour. It is quaint interior with a few tables outside! The staff were great and the food was lovely. I had a beef dish and my partner had a cauliflower and leek pie. Neither of the dishes were how we imagined they would be they were better and delicious! Would definitely go again!

Itâs on the way to the center, near the seaside. We had fried fish, chips. All was very delicious and simple. Itâs a self service place. Drinks were ice cold. The bread was good. There are several tables outside. The price was reasonable with the quality

Itâs mostly sea food, you can also find meat dishes. But both are so delicius (fresh) and filling that theyâre worth the price. Prices are around 10-20 per dish. And the service is so kind that youâd like to stay and chat.

We were there with the family for dinner and were absolutely stunned how great the food was. We had a fantasic 4 course dinner and enjoyed every single dish we got. The owner is a lovely person who explains everything in details, knows and loves cooking and you notice immediately that this is his passion. Excellent food and excellent service in a relaxing atmosphere with great view. We were happy that we found this little gem. Reservation is recommended as the restaurant is not that big (although we were lucky and got a seat with coming in like that, but we arrived pretty early).

It was a very busy night and the staff were rushed off their feet, but still they kept calm and maintained service. The menu comprises many seafood items that are well cooked. The food was satisfactory to good, but not overwhelmingly so. The meals tended to be on the larger side.Credit cards were accepted.
