Koper (Slovene pronunciation: [ˈkoːpəɾ] ( listen)) (Italian: Capodistria) is a city in southwestern Slovenia, with the other Slovenian coastal towns Ankaran, Izola, Piran, and Portorož, situated along the country's 47-kilometre (29-mile) coastline, in the Istrian Region, approximately five kilometres (3.1 miles) from its border with Italy. Having a unique ecology and biodiversity, it is considered an important national natural resource. The city's Port of Koper is the major contributor to the economy of the eponymous city municipality. With only one percent of Slovenia having a coastline, the influence that the Port of Koper also has on tourism was a factor in Ankaran deciding to leave the municipality in a referendum in 2011 to establish its own. The city is a destination on a number of Mediterranean cruising lines. In 2016, the city expects 65 cruise ship arrivals (for example: Norwegian Spirit, MSC Magnifica, Norwegian Jade, MS Rhapsody of the Seas...) with the season spanning from March to December. Koper is the main urban centre of the Slovenian Istria, with a population of about 25,000.

For a while now I thought there we no good affordable places to eat in Koper. They where ether too expensive or too cheap.
But this location is a hidden gem.
Fresh and amazingly prepared food. The host will recommend something for sure...order that. Dont get stuck with the menu. You wont be sorry.

This is definitely the place to have a coffee (very cheap) whist sitting in the magnificent Tito Square, admiring the view and watching the world go by. Get a table by the square - the food is fresh and good as well.

Besides a variety of pizza the pub offers a lot of other food so you can have a variety of food. Portions are big and well prepared. You are on the right place in case you want to try some different taste.

It's a business made by 2 young persons who wanted to have a tea house in their city/region. With a large variety of teas and beer to chose from, good coffee, home made desserts and now even a beer shop inside, this is a place worth visiting in Koper.

Stood here several times for a breakfast. Cafe and croissant. Very nice place to start the morning - and compared to many other places - very friendly service. A bit more sortiment for cakes is missing - but the rest is well done and clean :O)

We enjoyed excellent family lunch in a pleasant atmosphere, served by friendly host. Soups, meat, vegetable, olive oil, desserts, all was fresh and very tasty. It's a bit out of the way. Reservation is recommended as usually the restaurant is closed at Mo, Tu and Wednesday.

We were in town as a cruise stop. We wandered around on a very hot day. Popped in here for some cold beverages and a snack before a tour in the afternoon. Very clean place, with good prices. The fruit beverages are all made fresh. Beer was very cold. A must on such a hot day. Staff were very nice as well.
