NO SURPRISES
Reviewed By Michael SYes, I had a good idea what to expect when I booked, so I can't say I was surprised at what was offered, but I was still left feeling disappointed. Let's start with the positives. The hotel staff were friendly, although not particularly enthousiastic, and my room was clean, as was the shower and the bedding. Unfortunately, that's about it. Things almost started badly in finding the hotel, as it is cunningly concealed behind trees, and if coming from the peripherique, there is no signage. The decor throughout is awful, and I didn't like walking past piled up bags of (presumably) dirty linen in the hallway. The room itself was very small, with an ensuite shower/WC, and there was little or no room to move around the bed (the only furniture in the room). There is no wardrobe space so, as I was staying to two nights, I had to put my clothing on the bed - not ideal. The shower was OK, but there is no room to dry oneself (assuming you've remembered to bring a towel). I had to sleep with the GF window open as the AC unit was too noisy, so was frequently woken by noisy guests outside. The bed was not comfortable. Breakfast was very basic and, if you want coffee, be prepared to get up to ask the staff member to use their pass each time you want a cup. Finally, I didn't think my hotel room was cheap and at the end of the day, not value for money. Sorry, F1, but I won't be coming back.

Needs renovation
Reviewed By Harald SHotel needs urgent renovation. Had a room in the secondary building. Upper floors seem not to be belonging to the Hotel anymore. Was a bit noisy. Room was clean but had an depressing atmosphere. Breakfast just OK. Was the last time for me.

clos tolosan is a guest house located in the south suburb of Toulouse, enjoying the near toulouse (accessible by subway), the autouroutes, major universities and research sites and the canal du midi. surrounded by a green environment, the rooms are very quiet in an old building. we extend a warm welcome, friendly and sincere. we offer two bedrooms and a independant apartment.
bad experience
Reviewed By arnedeknegt2018I booked online via booking.com for 5 nights and secured my reservation with my credit card through the booking.com service. However, securing with a credit card does not guarantee a booking as a downpayment apparently has to be made via bank tranfer about which one is notified by email in French only. For this bank transfer Le Clos Tolosan gives 48 hours (which is not enough to tranfer money from a foreign bank account to a French account). The property owner cancelled by reservation before the money got transferred to their account. When I called to clarify the situation I received bad service in a rude manner. A bad experience.

Simple but you do not need more
Reviewed By Jean Pierre PQuiet off road near Canal du Midi. I was travelling by bike and I stopped there. Perfect place good price ans the room is small but everything is weel think. Wooden construction as in America. Honets breakfast for the prise- simple. Very kind peopkle at reception, good wi fi. Good nearby restaurant Buffalo Bill (do not look elsewhere).
