Reviewed By dianek589I have just returned from a 5 day stay here for a Pilates holiday. The rooms, the setting & the welcome was fantastic. Mel’s food is so lovely and she puts so much effort into all the meals she prepares for you, nothing is too much for Mel. I’ve come home with lots of new recipes. Roger is just great too. The whole family are just lovely too. They all work so hard and it really shows how much they love having people staying and this lovely place they created. Thank you so much Mel, Andy, Roger & the children. Oh and not too forget Ruby the wonder dog & Billy the cat x

Reviewed By Lindsey WOn a month trip through France with my husband and our 2 children under 3. We ended up here after a sudden change of plans and m so glad we did! It was jncredible. The hostess Marie Claude was wonderful, the house was charming and comfortable, and she went out of her way to find toys for our 2 year old son to enjoy. We all had an amazing time here. She cooked us a "panier gourmand" for dinner, we expected a picnic basket but received a Spanish omelet, cheese, fruit, pate, ham, bread and wine for 10 euros per person. Incredible. The house had an amazing story and was lovingly restored by the family. If you ever are in Jurançon, definitely stay here!

Reviewed By W4505YMrobertnMy wife and I decided to drive from the UK to our house in Spain rather than endure the flying experience during the Coronavirus situation. We were looking for an over night stay in Southern France to break up our journey and we settled on Au Moulin 1771. What a great decision that was. The b&b is a mill house and barn, lovingly refurbished by the owners and operators Martin and Elaine, a lovely couple who offer a warm and enthusiastic welcome. The quality of the accommodation, 2 b&b bedrooms and 3 gites, is excellent and both of the hosts will give a detailed description of all parts of your accommodation, of which they are both rightfully proud. The b&b is set in extensive grounds on the edge of the village in a tranquil but accessible location and the nights are blissfully quiet, Lovely local wines, varied evening menu and a substantial breakfast are also on offer, with locally sourced products and all prepared and served by the hosts. The venue and hosting characters exceeded expectation so much we re-booked for our return journey 4 weeks later. Now we have found the perfect location for our future journeys we will definitely be booking again for our next drive to Spain in October. Very highly recommended

Reviewed By CynthiaN365We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) and we stayed 2 nights in the family room at Maison Canterou. Our kids really liked all the rooster statues around the house. Our room was spacious and well set up. As we were travelling through it was very helpful to have a fridge at hand to keep some of our picnic in. In the morning Marie Jo treated us to a delicous breakfast with home made marmelades, pain perdu and yoghurt. Did I mention she has a great sense of humour and made the kids giggle? The setting is really nice too with views on the vineyards. If ever travelling through again we'll definitely stay a Maison Canterou again.

Good but not fabulous
Reviewed By Katieclem46Am surprised by the 9.4 rating and think this property has slipped since that was awarded. The front was a bit untidy with broken tiles lying by the steps, and weeds flourishing. On the plus side our room was spacious and clean with a nice little balcony overlooking the fields, and it was quiet at night. Breakfast was very good with home made jam etc. and Michel was friendly and chatty.
