No frills, nice hotel in a beautiful spot
Reviewed By Spiii-RoseThis is a small family hotel in the hamlet (barrio or auxoa) of Natxitua, about a kilometer, or a little more, outside of Ea. Ea is a small, attractive fishing town (very Basque, everyone speaks the language) with a very protected sand beach for those who like that. The hotel is on a hillside and has a nice garden behind, where the rooms are. From the room's terraces you can see the ocean, as you can from the front on the bar's terrace also. A rather spectacular view. We only had one breakfast and it was good. The pintxos we had other days were good too as was the service. I see that the midday menu has a good local following which is always a good sign. The people who run the hotel are very nice and helpful. Over four nights, I saw a fair amount of foreigners, Spanish, bicyclers and newly weds come and go. The rooms are on the small side but have everything you basically need when traveling and especially since they look out on the garden are an enjoyable space. This area is great for hiking to basically deserted (rocky) beaches or following the coastline along rugged cliffs. Stunning!

Very nice stay
Reviewed By TrinaJ770We had a lovely stay here. Room was well equipped and clean. Loved the sky lights! Nice breakfast every morning. Very helpful staff even though they had no one that spoke English and we did not speak basque or Spanish. Cons: very hard to find and no parking. While we thought it was close to Bilbao, with the very windy roads it took a lot longer to drive to Bilbao than we had originally planned for.

Reviewed By Lenka VThis little beautifuly reconstructed hotel is placed in the woods of Basque country. All the rooms are very cosy and nice. It can be little noisy fron the street...but there is really no trafic and there are also rooms faced to the garden. It's run by very friendly couple. They helped us to find restaurant and explained us where to go and what to do around. Breakfast vas very yami. The lady of house prepared us fresh orange juice and she served home made sweet pastry. We felt very welcome there. I really recomend this place.

A quiet location near Guernica

The apartment was comfortable and spacious, and the houses were set in gardens with views of the green surrounding countryside. The local beaches were small, sandy and not crowded, with excellent waves. Mertxe was helpful with suggestions about what to do and where to go locally.
