Perfect for what we needed
Reviewed By travelella2020The Candice Lucy hotel is run by super friendly and polite staff, who made our stay run really smoothly. We booked through booking.com however after some ferry issues we couldn’t make it to the hotel for the date we originally booked. We arrived a day late and explained the situation, where they told it us was no problem and we could stay there regardless with no extra cost to change the date. The room was spotless and extremely comfortable. The cafe located on the ground floor was also lovely and the food gave us some western options which we were craving after being on Tablas island prior to our stay with little choice of food. WiFi was good. No problems whatsoever, really enjoyed our stay. All we would say was it was a little difficult to find as it is not sign posted and is down a small alley so we had to ask a local how to find it.

Amazing staff and clean, comfortable accommodation
Reviewed By 757juliahI stayed here after being stuck in Caticlan due to ferry being cancelled because of Typhoon Ursula. The beach cottages were lovely and clean, comfortable and in a very quiet area. Tragically the Typhoon had a devastating effect taking a direct hit and I was woken to the sound of roof being ripped off my cottage. Immediately the staff were grabbing me, my suitcase and rushing me to the main building putting themselves before me. For 12 hrs we are sheltered in the concrete building watching the Typhoon flatten the area. I can’t praise the staff enough, in the middle of chaos the staff were making us carbonara for lunch, themselves not knowing whether their own homes still standing. I really hope they can rebuild and I highly recommend this lovely homely accommodation at amazing value. Thank you everyone-you were amazing

It's too basic for a stay
Reviewed By VingrauThe location of the hotel is good for those who have an early flight in the next morning to catch. This was the reason I chose this hotel for one night stay only before we flew to Manila, and I did not expect much. Even so, I could only give this hotel 2-star rating because: - It is very basic and does not have adequate facilities even for a simple stay. When I asked the staff for an electric kettle for boiling water, they said they did not have one, and then they had to boil some water for me using they gas stove; - The room did not have sufficient lighting. It was very dark and even scary; - The air conditioner did not work right. It was very noisy and inefficient. We could not sleep because of the heat in the night; - When we walked in, it looked to me like an abandoned place. Nobody was there and we had to wait for a while until a staff member came. I still give the hotel 2 stars instead of 1 because of its location and the fact that the staff was very cooperative when we asked for boiling water.
