Family holiday
Reviewed By Maxchar69We spent 4 nights in the tent lodge and had a wonderful holiday. The hosts Dominique and Laurence were so welcoming and our favourite times were spent with them and other guests in the evenings having table d’ hote meals cooked by Dominique with local produce. The location is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful within easy reach of the medieval village of Castelnau de montmiral. The lodge was secluded and very comfortable. We visited Cordes Sur Ciel and went canoeing in St Antonin but also just enjoyed time relaxing by the lodge and cooling down in the pool. We can’t wait to come back again, a truly fabulous place with genuine lovely hosts.

Room with great comfort--circa Van Gogh and Gauguin
Reviewed By davidnW7429ZGI reserved two "chambres simples" for two guests in a much anticipated four night stay in a quaint hotel. When I arrived i discovered that one of the rooms was booked only for two nights. The good news was that the manager did find a room with a view for the last two nights. The real disappointment came when I saw the bill, which included a price for 4 nights in a "room with great comfort." Instead of being charged 66 euros per night I was charged 107 euros per night for a room that might have qualified as "great comfort" at the time Van Gogh and Gauguin stayed in Arles. The only difference between the double bed room at 66 euros and the room at 107 euros was that the latter had three single beds, one of which was a dead ringer for the bed in Van Gogh's "The Artist's Bedroom." The two chairs were also from that era and, because one of them did have arm rests, I guess that qualified it as an armchair. At least Van Gogh's bedroom had a table. Our rooms did not even have that, which I had anticipated for the rock bottom priced room. For the room with great comfort, my travelling companion and I had to use one of the beds as a table. Did we feel ripped off? Yes we did.

A place of timeless culture
Reviewed By DanuSEITHWe had a wonderful 3 nights here, I had visited the Chai 4 years ago and vowed to return. The Chateau is a marvelous place to stay, the story of its renovations over 35 years fascinating and full of courage and passion. It was so comfortable and welcoming, the room was beautiful with panoramic views from the Gallery and each morning breakfast was refined and delicious. M and Mme Geddes are wonderful hosts with a welcome that is both friendly and elegant. We really appreciated the time spent with us by Alain Geddes and his son Duncan giving us a fabulous journey through the estates wines and production. This was just after the finish of vendange and as a fellow winemaker appreciated very much the time given to us at this time of year. They are passionate and dedicated winemakers, developing new and exciting directions for their wines and as Alain was the first Biodynamic domain in Gaillac, they lead their field. The wines are exceptional and very interesting, using unique grape varietal's from the region. It was without exception a fabulous visit, thank you again. Chateau de Mayragues is a beautiful batiment, restored and given new life by this wonderful family and their friends.

Reviewed By dlecand1We highly recommend Mas Castel.The hosts are accommodating, hospitable and kind and they went out of their way to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. Our room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, with a charming mezzanine area and a beautiful ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower area. Le Petit dejeuner in the cool breakfast room, included Nadine’s home-made jams, made from fruits picked from their orchard, they were delicious, and there was enough food to see you through to supper-time. Their swimming pool with its attractive sun-lounge area was a refreshing tonic to the intense heat of the Occitaine sun, and it’s a decent size, so we splashed around in it together as a family, quite comfortably. After the sun sets, their communal courtyard is the perfect stage to view the stars on a clear night. And what a breath-taking sight it is, it’s as if every star and galaxy in the universe has made itself visible, just for your viewing pleasure. Exploring the scenic surrounding countryside with its fields of sunflowers in full bloom, we came across a lake, and we bathed in its clean, clear waters, then hired some boats and did some kayaking, all for under Euros 20 for the three of us. There’s a bar, too, and ice cream and the place is called Bas de Loisirs Vere-Gresigne. For some history, culture, booze, coffee, pizza and French food, there’s the 13th century hamlet on the hill- Castelneau de Montmiral, after which the area is named. The small main square is quaint with old world charm, and crooked timber-beamed buildings. If you’re looking for that perfect gift to take back home, there’s an artisan gift-shop on the square, run by a small group of local artists and craftspeople, who sell their hand-made jewellery, bags, objet d’art, and ceramics among other things. Walk to the edge of this fortress town, high on a hill, you get a sweeping panoramic of this stunning French countryside, and when the sunflowers are in bloom, it’s an incredible sight to behold. Back to Mas Castel Chambres D’hotes, our stay there was wonderful, made so by our hospitable hosts, and we can’t thank them enough for all that they did for us. We will definitely be returning.

Excellent séjour
Reviewed By Natacha TNous avons séjourné en famille dans la villa 10 avec piscine. Les responsables sont très accueillantes et à l'écoute de la moindre demande. Un endroit calme et reposant. Une villa toute équipée, sans vis à vis, avec piscine chauffée. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir y séjourner.

Nadine et Philippe sont extrêmement accueillants, nous avons bien sympathisé. Une très belle piscine, un cadre exceptionnel, les petits déjeuners sont délicieux et copieux, très variés. La région est magnifique, tout fait pour que nous passions de très bonnes vacances. Merci pour ce bon moment
