We arrived approximately 1245pm. Checking in was fast and we were told to wait at any cabana inside the resort and wait for their call. Inside there were quite a number of people and only 1 cabana was left where it is not sunny. we waited there until 2pm, until a family came and told us to move because they rented the cabana. we were bumped off and left no where to stay. The admin should have a designated place to stay for checked in guests. 2nd incident, the aircon of our room was not working. i have to wait for the maintenance to finish before i can leave our cabin. Good thing Mr Onie was there who diligently and patiently attended to our room AC. If he was not there i would have lost my temper. however because i waited for them to finish, around 530pm when i went to the slide, it was already closed. The pool that was only open was quite small and since there was plenty of guest we were like a sardine in the pool. If you are expecting a lot of guests the admin should have placed at least 2 life guards so that at least 2 pools can be used by the guests, cmon we paid a lot just to be in your resort..3rd incident there are no on duty lifeguards on the beach. in the meantime lifeguards on the pool area are sitting down on one of the cabanas, some where even shouting with other lifeguards stating" pre samahan kita sa pagbantay dyan kawawa ka naman" saying it while laughing because there was a lady wearing 2 pc bikini in the pool, it was a big turn off for me. They were also not conscious of the time, it was already 9am and they were still drinking coffee under the slide . Guests were already climbing the slide, good thing 1 lifeguard saw them and stopped them, they were about to slide. 4th incident, they are not cleaning the pool everyday, they just removed leaves and insects.. 5th incident, which is the last straw, the lady staff of sands resto, the one taking the order last may 27,7am , she totally ignored me. I waited patiently in line for my turn, but she ignored me, didnt look me in the eye as if she was avoiding me, there were only 2 tables occupied and 1 in front of me, but she took time looking around and even answered the phone first before taking my order, actually it is the assistant male that i called to take my order. i was standing there patiently in front of her for 3-5 min waiting for her to look at me and take my order. but no one asked me what do i need. they even talked to the one of staff who came and talked about he was pulled out and ask to cone early because one of the staff cannot make it. they were talking right in front of me. i just kept my cool. But cmon you need to retrain your staffs. This is the first time i have been to a place that is being managed like this. The beach is nice, the cabin is unique but a little bit rundown , the staff are terrible( except for sir onie). Not coming back ever and i will bring my 15k per night elsewhere.

Very disappointed. Everything is absolutely misleading. The arrival to the place (don't call it resort nor hotel) is terrible, through a narrow road full of filth and trash. When we got there there was one unfriendly staff at front desk, as soon as they showed the rooms we ran away. Unbelievable, pictures completely misleading. All is rotten and malfunctioning. Of course the Hotel was empty, nobody there. I asked for a refund from Booking.Com and they rejected which added to my disappointment to be scammed. The beach is disastrous, a poor fisher village has covered the beachfront with fishing elements, I understand it is for their job but this is not a holiday.Don't think about going or spending your money on this hotel it's a total package of ruining your vacation. I suspect many of the good reviews are fake. Hope this helps.

Villa Del Faro

Nice cozy resort but needs better food

Reviewed By Ethan M

The resort is near the beach, just a 5min walk from the resort. But the beach itself isn't that fine. Don't expect Boracay type beach with fine sand. It was quite rocky with a small patch of sand that goes along for a few km. But what it lacks in swimming it makes up on view and walkability. You should definitely bring water shoes because this beach is a nice place to walk on because the water was usually low and you could see all the sea life in shallow water. Or just play in the sand with the kids. The resort itself is small but the rooms were newly renovated. Everything was clean and the shower had hot water which I always appreciate. Bed was comfy and I slept well. The pool was good and had a deep end which is unique to most pools in the PH. But pool had no heater so it was absolutely freezing. The only thing that I could really complain about was the food. The quality itself was ok, home cooking and taste was decent. But it was around p380 or something for a tapsilog and other usual Pinoy favorites. so imagine a regular hotsilog for p380. Restaurants are far and few so you really have to plan where you want to eat if you stay here. Staff were excellent and the owners where there. They attended to all our needs very promptly and that definitely made up for the food thing. Would recommend but note the food.

Underrated restuarant & resort in Batangas

Lago De Oro's location is convenient. It is accessible via Nasugbu and Batangas City-Lemery-Balayan (best option when its traffic in Tagaytay). All our stays so far are pleasant. The rooms are plain and old but still well-maintained. The room size is comfortable most especially for big groups. Our family would often come here for breakfast & dinner coz they have the best and authentic Lebanese and Middle Eastern food! Sooo legit! All the staff are friendly and attentive most especially the waiters.

One night

The rooms are large with a kitchenette that is very dated. Not well maintained, but they clean it as best they can. We only slept there as we were visiting relatives who live in Binan City. It's okay for one night. It could be an impressive property if only they would renovate it.
